Personally, I think BJ is superior, although Chapman's CV with the premierships puts BJ in the shade, which is always a major sticking point.
Put Goddard in Geelong's teams and with Thomson as his coach and he would have won significantly more flags than Chapman.
Absolute champion in the games that mattered, just a pity some others couldn't match their home and away outputs in GF's!

He couldn't have given any more. That mark he took - seconds earlier he was up the other end of the ground. He was trying desperately to get us up. It was inspirational. Don't care what a flog like Chapman thinks of him. I know he is universally loved and respected by his SAINTS teammates especially Roo. That is enough for me.
That's right, two mighty performances by BJ in those Grand Finals.

How dare BJ ask chapman where his man was.

How self-centred of BJ not to fully realise that it was the one and only chapman he was addressing.

At least now the maybe dozens of people who read chapman's book will know how it all went down.

I always thought Chapman was more damaging

He was also more loyal to his club then BJ was to his, and douche or not he was part of one of the most dominant teams of the modern era.

Personally i think if Chapman shares an opinion, he has the runs on the board that suggests those around him should listen

I thought our top echelon - Roo, Goddard, Ball - seemed a bit up themselves maybe because they were such high picks. Maybe they lacked the common touch and grounding that would have let their own behaviors be challenged to make the team better. Roo's habit of acting disgusted when a pass goes over his head irks me a bit. Has anyone challenged him on that? Would anyone dare? That what leadership in a club is really about - the courage to keep it real. Everyone should be prepared to drop their ego and take it on the chin to make the team function better.

I met Goddard twice outside of the football club. He didn't seem like a nice guy, I'm not surprised he comes across as a bit of an arsehole.
