Lee only Saints player to poll votes according to radio broadcast got 2nd best from each. Hickey and Saunders got special mention and minch a mention regarding a good cameo

Thought Brown got a vote, sorry, he is a Sandy player, you are correctDie Hard 7 wrote:Lee only Saints player to poll votes according to radio broadcast got 2nd best from each. Hickey and Saunders got special mention and minch a mention regarding a good cameo
You are garbage - Enough said
Re: Sandy vs. Druggies TBBO TODAY 2PM Be there!
I would love for someone from the club to answer what the plan is for Lee? Is this backline move a temporary thing to add another string to his bow or a permanent position change?
Re: Sandy vs. Druggies TBBO TODAY 2PM Be there!
Sounds like Huddo is trying to make a backman out of Tommy. Played well down back against Frankston last week in the praccy match and now puts in a sensational last quarter at half back today. Good swingman for the future maybe when Chips retires.BringBackMadDog wrote:T lee sensational last qtr at half back

Wonder if they are trying to turn Lee into a Chips in the sense that both recruited as mature age forwards and then being placed into the backling

The only reason Tommy went to the half backline was Tatye Pears was smashing him in the one on ones, yes his last quarter was good but God help us if he is Fisher's replacement.

One thing about Lee is he is a beautiful field kick so he can be really damaging out of the back half. He is also very mobile.
Best saints players were:
TC
Acres
Saunders
hickey
Lee
Goddard was beaten by mckernin, DMac tried hard as always but didn't have his normal influence, Webster got more of the ball in the second half made a few mistakes but that can be expected with the amount of footy that he's missed. Michington tried hard but just doesn't get enough of the ball, he has a great nickname, meatball!
Mitch brown will be back in the AFL next year, he is a classy footballer and has great hands, I think he kicked 5 and I hope we rookie list Kenny Ong, he is a seriously good footballer, great speed and good skills

Acres should be on the plane this week!

Thought McKenzie was good again. Did what was asked. He's getting closer.
Re: Sandy vs. Druggies TBBO TODAY 2PM Be there!
Did Murdoch play? How did Saunders play?
I'm quite interested how the boys who have been on the senior list for quite some time are tracking?
Saunders particularly hasn't had any injury problems this year but isn't in the senior side... Seems like his development has stalled over the last 12 months.

Brodie didn't play and Saunders was one of our better players although he still misses more targets than he hitsFQF wrote:Did Murdoch play? How did Saunders play?

Makes sense - we need to start preparing for life post Dempster and Fisher sooner rather than later.BringBackMadDog wrote:He has played defense in all practice matches and today. I guess that's what they are now grooming him formatrix wrote:so tommy lee

The 2010 GF has been and gone - no point us trying to re-live it and unless someone invents a time-machine those games were in the past.

I went.
Lee a DEFINTITE IN against Carlton. That I have no doubt. Looked like a true full back today. Surprised me to say the least.
Lee will play deep in defence in NZ, and Fisher may be switched to half forward to cover Roo's absence.
Just a very strong gut feel.......

Lee would be undersized against the top 2 key forwards in pretty much every team in the league. Including Henderson Jones and Casboult.saintspremiers wrote:I went.

Perhaps he needs to be in the team as a medium running backman?FQF wrote:Lee would be undersized against the top 2 key forwards in pretty much every team in the league. Including Henderson Jones and Casboult.saintspremiers wrote:I went.

Gotta remember that it wasnt until later in his career that Fisher began playing more as a KPB whereas up til then he was more a tall run quarter back

So we put our best defender forward who has no idea about that role to fit someone else in. I certainly hope not.

Hence why we recruited Delaney and Goddard. We also have Gilbert.FQF wrote:Lee would be undersized against the top 2 key forwards in pretty much every team in the league. Including Henderson Jones and Casboult.saintspremiers wrote:I went.

So you need to compare Lee to the 3rd sized fwd. Lee is taller than both Dempster and Fisher. No need or expectation for him to ever have to go to a monster.
