Wow that's bizarre, I saw him on AFL game day on sunday. Coincidence? He was saying he definitely hasn't signed up with Carlton...he never said anything about the Sainters. It's a sign from the footy gods.

I saw Cameron Jeremy at seasord the other day as well. He was with his brother Ron. They were making some sort of movie.

I think they played that on Gameday...did it have some fish in it? he is apparently pretty handy with a rod.

Melbourne would be the only club suitable for trading regarding top 10 picks if Frawley leaves.. Although I doubt Pick 1 & 21 for example would be enough to match pick 3 & 4. I can't see us trading it.

Smart move to say we are willing to trade pick 1. It lets everyone think it is on the market as you never know who rates the top players highly. Someone out there may make a ridiculous offer too good to refuse. If we say we won't trade pick 1 we never will get that offer. GWS did it last year but when push came to shove they didn't get the overs offer and they didn't trade. i think we are doing the same thing. Like they say everyone is tradable for the right price.

Just a question for someone who may know - if Melbourne end up with the #1 pick and Frawley leaves does that mean they will get pick #2 as compo (given his age, contract, etc) or is it up to the discretion of the afl?

Cheers, that would be pretty average given P Roos' comments this week about tanking.

Well in his defence I dont think they are even slightly tanking unless he somehow xan get a side not to try in the last quarter. I think the point is they wouldnt really care about losing Frawley and who could blame them. Very good player but not worth a top 4 pick but thats the system.

Pick no 1 or no pick no1 I just get a feeling that Richo may bring out the broom this year. Could be wrong but there may be a few on the way out.

I'd take Cameron - closest thing to a Roo like forward in years, and he is a little better below the knees!

More press - this time Richo - about the potential for us to trade the No 1 pick "for an exceptional deal".

Are they softening us up? Or more red herrings?

I think we are flying a kite in the media just to let all the player agents know we are open for business..... just in case......

Im betting we will trade the first pick. As things stand it looks like we will get 1 and supposedly GWS very keen on Petracca _ and they certainly don't need another tall forward like McCartin. I'd be leaking a whisper in the media that we are also keen on Petracca and that will bring GWs to the table. Either a Dom Tyson type deal or swap for 2 picks would be my guess . Either way we will turn that #1 pick into 2 players.

I agree thats a real possibility. Seems to be the way Pelchen works.
He's a numbers man and right now we need several good young players to come in in a short period.
Interesting times.

Today is probably our last genuine shot at a win which will get us Pick 2 or 3.

Not so sure about that. Adelaide have a history this season of following a win with a loss.

They have played good (not great) footy in patches.

I would think the no. 1 pick is ours now. Not much chance to win any of the remaining games.

Regardless of pick numbers etc, I suggest the Saints just go out and do whatever it takes to secure a truckload of quality young midfielders and worry about the rest after that!
