I'm looking forward to seeing Ross play. He had progressed last year and I can see hi stepping it up against his cousin.

I really like Seb but I'm not sure he's got the stomach to run with Jobe.

I really hope Geary is the SUB to be honest. Had a very average game last week and going on performance, should be the sub.

I want to see what Billings can do with a full game, along with Sebby.
Play the younger blokes who deserve to play, not just name or if their in the leadership group etc.

On a slightly different note, I totally hate the sub rule. Its one less player that you can follow/watch, that has to basically miss out and play 15 minutes of football. Its s*** for teams trying to develop young blokes or guys who are good enough but on the very fringe. Think its a joke tbh.

Bruce in. Will play CHB, surely(?) That frees up Gwilt and Dempster to help him out third man up, intercept mark and rebound. (Same for Roberton and the two Sams once fit.)
Whilst being one of the few on here who wants BBBBeau in, playing only the two big forwards puts a lot more responsibility on Rhys Lightning. This could be a good thing. Instead of deferring to others, he's now gonna' be much more 'da man'.
So Rhys, just keep presenting, no matter what. Just get to as many contests as you can, no matter what. And in the process, run yourself ragged Rooey-style.
Tommy Lee not picked. I'm a huge fan, but give him a bit more time to build-up his upper body and his fitness after those off-season surgeries.

Wondering?:
A lot of on ballers who aren't overly quick...Lenny, Schneids, Ross, Billings, Ray...? (Though the others can motor along..., and then it's up to another level again with the dud.)

We are screwed. Look at Essendons ins.

They may have been sick last week but will be fine this week and avoided playing in the heat.

BJ as an out hurts a bit though.

What I would like to see this week is not three Saints tackling one opposition player while the ball spills out to free opposition players. Also want to see our forwards put on massive defensive pressure and hold marks. I think I would really like to see basic footy smarts- man up your opponent and be first to the ball.

A rule at Freo

They only allow one tackle player, the others must cut out options around the contest

Only Jack and Joey really do damage for us. Joey mainly on account of his kicking. If I was opposition coach Id look to shut down Joey and Jack.

Disappointing for Seb

Ridiculous rule.... Gets a chance... And what, either gets a real chance through injury... Or gets the typical 35 minutes to have an impact...

If he doesn't

Possible demotion?

You go on, and can't work yourself into the game, run hard and just hop the ball finds itself in your hands

It's akin to batting at five or Six in a 20/20... A hiding to nothing.

Shocking rule for players on the fringe. Must be so frustrating.

Get rid of the rule. If you get an injury. Stiff. Win some. Lose some.

And no changes to either side.

Sub for Essendon, per usual, is a syringe.

One knock on his game has been his inability to spread and run. Maybe they think he can't go at the required pace for a full game.

Agreed

It's a joke, and a typical half measure... Absolutely no common sense whatsoever.

What player in their right mind would enjoy the best... Except for old Gia, who's only got a quarter in him

Its a good rule. I think you better get used to it because it is more likely to be 2 or more subs in the next year or two. Hopefully slow the game down a bit so less around the ball.

Although I want ross to be given every chance he deserves... I have trust in the coach in doing exactly that. Everyone must earn there spot...seems to be the only way to build a strong team. So if ross needs to work harder and it makes him a better player then great!

He may not enjoy it, but someone has to be sub. At least he gets the chance at senior level to show what he can do. Hopefully he racks up a ton of touches and puts forward a case for a full game.

You do realise 4 interchange was brought in so sides wouldnt be short of players because of injury. it is was then used to play 22 on 22. Now its back to 21 to 21. Hopefully it will be 20 on 20 and eventually go back to 18 on 18. Exactly how the game was played for over 100 years.
