I didn't realise Tom Hickey was a gun yet?
The Joke will work better then.... Until then...
He's played 26 games .... And his overall performances are average ... To this point
11 hit outs a game... 10 possessions .... Not exactly Brodie Grundy is he?
Best of luck Billy.
And
I didn't know you had to be a physiologist to determine a body shape... Just a set of eyes?
Remember if Longer is #1 Ruckman at years end... It'll be like softie Cripps? He probably ran away from the photographer who couldn't catch him.

Big job for Longer? Against Sauce... Least we might get 1/3 of the hit outs though
Wasn't calf code for dropped last week?
Jesus, you are a victim aren't you?

It's fantastic that we're able to cover key roles like this. Using Stanley in the ruck makes as much sense as using Black Caviar as a milkmans cart horse. It will damage our structure, and damage our players.Con Gorozidis wrote:This is why having 3 ruckman who can actually play is a good thing.
Lets say we didn't have Longer - the young fella Pierce is on the LTI so we would be relying on Stanley to ruck the entire game - we don't even have anyone who can pinch hit for a few minutes a quarter. I guess you could throw Maister in there for comedy value. I know Lee pinch hits in the ruck at VFL level but I dont think that would even be considered at AFL level.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Longer plays well.
Maybe Stanley will come under some pressure.
That can only be good.

Well i want Longer to be the premier ruckmen in the league in three, four or five years. Overtaking everyone including Hickey, with no offence to Hickey ( he can still be No.2).

Let's just give the guy a fair go and see how he performs on the day.
I would hate to have most of these posters on the recruiting panel - we wouldn't have a team

"Steven was expected to miss another month with a fractured sesamoid bone in his right foot but Saints coach Alan Richardson said he’d been back running for two weeks and the injury was fully healed.
“We’re pretty comfortable he’ll be strong enough in the legs. His touch is a chance to be a little bit off,” Richardson said.
The Saints also lost Sam Gilbert (foot) while the Crows named an unchanged side as they plot to beat St Kilda at Etihad Stadium for the first time since 2006."
"No.3 pick Jack Billings missed the final cut despite booting four final-quarter goals in the VFL last week.
“(Billings) comes to our footy club not with a great training history,” Richardson said.
“His last couple of years have been pretty chequered. We’ve got to be really careful with Jack – he’s here for a career, not for a game.”
Richardson said he expected a fired-up Adelaide after its winless start to the season.
“They’ll be absolutely red-hot and ready to go, there is no doubt about that,” he said.
“We just need to make sure we are up to it at the start and in the contest early with our defence and physicality and make the most of our opportunities.
“Last week was probably our best footy for a half against West Coast, so I think we are building nicely.”
Steven played every match last season and averaged 27 disposals, capping his breakout season with a career-best 47 touches in the final round.
Crows coach Brenton Sanderson said he wanted to test his players’ resolve after last week’s disastrous loss to Sydney.
“We’ve challenged the same 22 players to respond. We didn’t have enough contributors last week, so we need to see improvement across the board, not just from one or two players,” he said."

Probably close at the moment. But then again Plugger hasn't played for 15 years and might be a bit short of fitness.plugger66 wrote: I want maister to be better than plugger.

Maister is a spud..time for a reality check for those that don't understand the game..remboy wrote:Probably close at the moment. But then again Plugger hasn't played for 15 years and might be a bit short of fitness.plugger66 wrote: I want maister to be better than plugger.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Picked a good night to bring him up. 4 touches, well beaten in the HO's.. Kid's already plateaued in my opinion, & Hick will certainly finish the better player..BigMart wrote:Not exactly Brodie Grundy is he?

Thats bloody scary.
I remember him in his 'comeback' peddling on that exercise bike in his swans jumper like it was yesterday.
