It's not corruption, just incompetence and prejudice. The Saints don't intimidate them anymore and there's a general feeling that we belong at the bottom of the ladder. It long ago got to the stage when a game that's close at three-quarter time had me thinking, "Bet the umps hand it to the opposition on a platter in this last quarter."

So why is North so well looked-after? Possibly because Brad Scott spends most of his time in the coach's box throwing his hands in the air (intimidation). Or maybe because they have a glamorous, outspoken president. Or maybe because they're perceived to be "on the up".

Good OP. Watched the Bummers/Scumbags game on Friday night and was just perplexed by the interpretations being given, especially of holding the ball / dropping the ball. It seems guys can take possession and then run into a tackle and get into a wrestle for the footy without any penalty. No reward for the tackler. But then a guy dives in desperation for the footy and three opponents immediately land on top of him - he has no chance to get it out - but it's holding the ball.

The rules around possession of the footy seem to me moving the game towards more of a rugby style rolling melee fighting for possession until someone actually gets it clear.

Agree with other posters too about the packaging and marketing. Would rather go to local footy, stand near the boundary and really enjoy the game.
