The quicker it is ugly the better. We get more games into kids and we move from there.Teflon wrote:gonna be ugly this one..hope I can get radio reception under my bed....
I don't want three years of 10-12 seasons whilst we ween off Clinton Jones.
I want one bad year of 5-17 and we flick off the majority of the crap.

Im thinking similar to redeemer at the moment . Lets play as many as the kids as possible for the rest of the year. Get as much as the pain done this year.

Yep and realistically only a few of Curren, Shenton, Ferg, Lever, Saunders, Ledger, Dunell, Webster, Murdoch, Lee, Markworth, Minchington etc are likely to make it… the sooner we find out which ones will make it the better.southernsaint wrote:Im thinking similar to redeemer at the moment . Wright, Ross & Siposs look pretty safe bets.
Re: Team v Kangas
Why do some posters think that by just playing the kids this year, this will be the worst year out of the rebuild? I have fears for the next 3 years. Just because we get games into these kids doesn't mean next year is going to be any better.

Im happy enough to call Wright, Ross even this limited info suggests experience is all they need.
Siposs has the tools.......can he ever get the consistency is the question - bit harder for mid sized fwds I reckon...I really hope he can because the difference between him as an A Grader and C is huge and he does have A grade material.

Why is the AFL website showing the Round 8 teams?
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

I agree clarky.
I think that next year will be worse than this year, then the year after that will be even worse than that. In 2016, then we'll start going back up the ladder, hopefully with a rocket. It's the natural course of progression... the next 3 years is for the true believers....

2014/15 we will struggle.
But if we are very smart and do everything right we can be top 4 in 2016.

Re: Team v Kangas
If Jones and Maister get another game someone down there litterally has no idea. InvisiBeau has done a great job of doing a statue impression 2 weeks in a row now. Jones tag of best lock down tagger in the game is a distant memory. These guys will not offer more than Wright/Saunders.
I want to see this
IN: Armitage, Saunders, Wright, Fergurson
OUT: Hayes, Jones, Maister, Ray
BANG BANG

Curren was playing pretty well last year for Sandringham. Haven't been able to keep up with them recently. How has he and Ledger been traveling?

Re: Team v Kangas
Agreed. Especially if rumours are true and Roo won't play and Fisher comes out with soreness. May as well get these guys in, play them for a couple of weeks before the bye and see how they perform. Two games against North and West Coast at Etihad are good opportunities to test them out.Hurricane wrote:If Jones and Maister get another game someone down there litterally has no idea. No Zeebull for North means they lose grunt in their midfield, so should help us a bit- wouldn't be surprised if someone else goes out and Kosi gets a run.

LOVE this side. Well done mad saint guy. The Ferg slotting in the back line and Stanley up forward. Very, very nice.mad saint guy wrote:The 25 isn't really what I hoped to see, but hopefully this is how they line up (assuming no injured players named)
B: Gwilt, Ferguson, Dempster
HB: Roberton, Fisher, Webster
C: Geary, Armitage, Wright
HF: Dal Santo, Riewoldt, Saad
F: Siposs, Stanley, Milne
Foll: McEvoy, Steven, Montagna
Int: Ross, Ray, Newnes
Sub: Saunders
Ferguson named means Hickey or Maister have to be out, I'm hoping both out and Stanley to play as forward/ruck. We have been far too immobile with McEvoy, Hickey, Maister, Riewoldt, Siposs and Gwilt all in as talls who can't chance direction or stick a tackle.

Re: Team v Kangas
Im with the Redeemer.
OK CJ is fit and tries hard- but seriously what is the point playing him? Hes only slightly/arguably better than a kid anyway and he has zero upside - hes not going to improve.
I just cant see any reason playing him when Saunders and Curren are similarish players and perform week in week out at VFL level. CJ is now a genuine list clogger.
Heck id even rather the Ledge got a go ahead of CJ.

Presumably the team will line up something like...
Gwilt Ferguson Webster
Roberton Fisher Dempster
Dal Santo Ross Montagna
Steven McEvoy Armitage
Saad Stanley Hickey
Milne Riewoldt Siposs
INT: Geary Wright Newnes
Emerg: Ray
