Right now They need a ready made KPF or KPD (given the age of pav and mcpharlin) more than retaining Fyfe.
Lyon is ruthless, he will know that he needs to land those key position players to keep their 'window' open.

They also picked up Pearce in FA who would be on say $250-300k?

Wouldn't it be great to faaaak Ross Lyon over by offering Fyfe massive coin (say an extra 500k on his current wage) and long contract, which if freo chose to match, then they wouldnt have the 'massive' cap space to land buddy/Cloke/Taylor?

Firstly is he out of contract and second Freo will not get rid of their best ball winner to get any of those players. You say RL is ruthless but I am yet to see him be anything but loyal to his players. Many on here would argue to loyal.
Main one i can think of is Luke Ball? - #2 pick, former b&f winner, All Australian and club captain.

Lyon treated him with disdain.

Yep because he couldnt do what he wanted in his opinion. Pretty sure Fyffe doesnt come under that category and now even more sure he has a contract.

Broughton was contracted until the end of 2013.

Didn't stop freo trading him to the suns.. It can still be done.

No it cant. Face facts it is a billion to one. Come up with a better option and uncontracted.

PurpleHates reality ?

Dal Santo is a FA, dockers could get him for free if he wanted to go there.

I'm starting to get the feeling that you are not sure about this Essendon team. :D

Fyfe, dream on I reckon, he'd be signed up for the next 5 years wouldn't he? Future captain/brownlow.

Sydney can probably sneak him in their cap on 2 mil/year, cause bread & cheese are just so damn expensive up there.

where the hell is that dam like button!!!

Not as flashy as dangerfield but still as effective.

Could be a 10 year player for the saints.

5 year contract and big coin a la Gehrig/Hamill. Say $700k pa? posting.php?mode=quote&f=1&p=1326328#
We would need to pay overs to get him out of WA, but he could potentially get better and better.

Freo would be pretty close to their salary cap so they wouldn't be able to match the coin.

1st round pick and dal santo would do it. Don't mind giving up 1st round pick for a young-known quality quantity.

Future captain material too.

I don't have the contract in front of me, but I am guessing Nick would need to sign any extension for it to become binding. Just like Kosi, Gram & CJ… the club can't give them the flick, but the player doesn't have to activate the clause.

It's all very hard for you isn't it? Maybe you should stop rolling your eyes around your head so much, must make you dizzy?

I'm no troll. Just putting an idea forward to trade for a young gun we can build
Our side around for the next 10 years.

Where's your alternate suggestion?

Who do we target and how? Names, offers etc..?

Massive negative connotations on here. If you're going to shoot an idea down then make sure
you provide an alternate idea otherwise what does your post achieve?

If we really turn to s*** over the next few years, this forum could explode!
