Actually, looking back at recent premiers is pretty cheerless reading:

'93 Essendon -- over the salary cap.

'95 Carlton -- over the salary cap

'01-'03 Brisbane. Special concessions

'05 Sydney. Special concessions. Hall plays after decking Maguire behind play.

'06 West Coast. On the gear.

'07, '09, '11 Geelong. On special supplements?

'10 Collingwood. Elevated levels of human growth hormone.

'12 Sydney. Special concessions.

So...instead of at least 3 premierships in those years, we have the dunces cap. Sad.

No, the Dawks flag was a fluke that happens every now and then but not to us! Bummers in 93 another example.

aod 9604 banned under S0 of wada code as I suggested would be the ruling!

Next question is can ASADA prove the buummers were on aod 9604 - thats a tricky one....

No doubt they were....

Doc Reid and the nurses hold the key to this....

Clock is ticking on Hirdy

Well Con its an open and shut case then. Lets ban them now. Unlike it seems some here i trust ASADA and dont care how long they take as long as they get it right unlike some who seem to know more than ASADA.

And dont forget the whistle blowers. They are the ones who bought Lance down, and could be a big part here. There may be some ex players not happy

The investigation into Essendon came about because Riemers went to the media prior to the ACC report. Him and Angus Monfries are probably the guys most likely to have been in the middle of this, but again, like so many points of interest in this investigation, they have nothing to win from coming forward, they can only lose.

correct me if im wrong but didnt essendon get into some trouble a few years back for the way they used their runners as extra players to clog up space during the game ?
seems to me Essendon are pretty good at stretching the boundarys of what is fair

That's where I disagree.. It will be perceived as a triumph through adversity, backs against the wall, win against all odds.. Hird will walk from this a hero.. Egg on all our faces.. This I'm certain of..

Asada dont give out fines. Asada are also bound by Wada (yeah I know all them ada's) so they shouldnt be able to make special agreements with the AFL. The sport is irrelevant to Asada, they are interested in the individuals and probably have not come across such a widespread case before. ie so many individuals at one club. Probably why it is taking so long.

Must admit though Matrix part of me is scared that what you say will happen. If it does then the AFL have more power than we ever thought.

Yes unfortunately it is already happening isnt it. Hird was a hero after the freo win and the team were supermen. The media are just as bad as the supporters.

That stuffed us up big time becuase it made Geelong very very hungry in 09.

Our biggest chance however was in 04. If we got over Port in 04 the flag would have been ours. Lons were stuffed and we would have been massive underdogs. Plus they would have been way to overconfident becuase they smashed us up in Brissie.

G, Harves, Rooey, Aussie, Ball etc etc would have turned it on.

So reading the latest, it appears Danks has annoyed Shane Charter....probably not his best move, upsetting some like that.

This is going to get ugly.

really this whole thing is bad for Australian sport in general ... for years Australia have been the most vocal nations about drug cheats pointing fingers at countys like China for their dodgy practices and super human swimmers , as a nation we have pushed this rep of us being clean and that drug cheats should be punnished hard so if this whole thing gets swept under the carpet then as a nation we are no better than the countrys we have in the past condemed as cheats

Anyone notice how that javelin thrower looked? She looked about 60 and didn't seem to have aged very well.

They certainly had an entertaining trip back down the highway in 09 after stopping in for some 'party supplies' (& I don't mean at Lombards).

Thats her, dobbed in Maurie Plant for trying to substitute her urine sample with Jane Fleming's.

Maurie wasn't happy it was brought up.

ASADA came off pretty poorly as well. A dicus thrower (I think) was banned in 92. Reckons that because he was in the B team and the others ahead of him were on EXACTLY the same gear, ASADA hrew out their samples and made him the scapegoat.

The others went to the Olympics that year.

Great, the doping authority seems like they can be bought off. How much money does the AFl have again?
