We don't need Hickey for this one - Mac to ruck 75% with some fillin from Stanley (Simpkin to cover). Wish we'd gone for a little more speed in Dunnel but Sipposs deserves another crack, apart from a couple of clangers he wasn't that bad.

Unless we get a million new injuries I don't think Blakey and Kosi should play again.
They both deserve a farewell game at years end. Round 22 v the Suns at Etihad.
Agree with this. Look to the future.

Milne and Hayes will prob hang up the boots at years end too. If so I'll do my best to be at the dome round 23 v freo.

not according to milney..don't know about hayes...might be wait and see how he goes.....

Nup, no late changes unless late injuries.

Reason: we need maximum pace, Hickey in would slow us down.

With Simpkin back, it releases Stanley to ruck, with Macca occasionally floating back due to Blake's omission.

Be very disappointed if Stanley does any ruckwork apart from the back half.

Stanley has been our inform tall backman and looks settled in the role. He's also been taking our kick outs. Sending him in the ruck will disrupt our structure and his game personally.

Because the 2 games he has played in the backline all the game have been very good and there is no way a key back can also help out in the ruck IMO. Let him play at FB or CHB until he fails. The only way he could possibly go into the ruck is if he plays on Hille all game and goes where he goes.

Colyer could be saved for the anzac day match.

No idea but i would think it maybe Maister up forward and Stanley down back unless Stanley follows Hille everywhere.

There should be no charity games, Kosi only plays if tall forwards get injured I reckon.

Thought there was a chance we could have gone Hickey for extra height forward, but now reckon Siposs will be used forward/wing.
In Canberra Millarsaint? On her Majesty's secret service by any chance?

On SEN earlier tonight, Watters spoke about how much planning had been put into this match.

The team looks to be the right balance to me. Let's see how it goes.

Just PR....

I would be extremely disappointed if a lot of planning did not go into every much.

After all there is a busload of coaches now.

Around the ground is easier now as its just a quick throw up rather than bounce down.

Centre tap outs was what I was alluding to, and given the higher scoring in general this year , it means more goals and extra centre tap work reqd than last year!

There are also a lot less stoppages than previous years

Looking at that lineup there's no way Stanley won't do some ruckwork. Maister may do some as well. The buzz word from Watters for sometime has been "versatile" and to be quite honest I don't see the issue in Rhys doing some of the ruckwork especially with the inclusions of Simpkin and Sipposs (both can play down back). You don't have to spend 100% gametime in a position to be settled.

Surely Maister will ruck poorly for five minutes a quarter and we'll hope that doesn't hurt too much.

Stanley and Fisher on talls, Simpkin probably a good matchup for Crameri, Geary and Roberton on the smalls.

Carlisle, Hooker and Pears still looks like a reasonable defence on Riewoldt, Maister, Lee. I don't know their small backs.

Midfield obviously the battleground. Watson, Stanton, Goddard, Heppell, Zaharakis, Winderlich vs Hayes, Dal Santo, Montagna, Armitage, Steven, Gilbert. Jones might go to Stanton, Hocking to Dal Santo. No reason we should necessarily lose in there but it won't be easy.

If they were to line up as selected would that be one of our most inexperienced backlines ever ?
