I would rather cut off my leg with a rusty bread knife than watch him in a saints jumber. Did I mention he's overrated.

Tend to agree.

I have him as overrated also.

Again, hes no Pendlebury.

We clearly are rebuilding - so we are not gonna go for any marquee players - we want to make our own.
I think we need good draft picks this/next year.

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

If we're throwing big money at free agents it should be at core players you can build a team around, not inconsistent flankers and wingmen. We need gun inside midfielders, an AA-quality tall defender or a star power forward.

Agreed. We need replacements for Dal, Lenny and Rooey. Worry about the cream on top later.

Yeah. A but like Bakes. But with skill.
Bakes wasn't terribly surreptitious, and for Bakes it was BAU, not just cos you were getting beat.

Ok we should stop kidding ourselves and start facing some facts after tonight.

Dale Thomas is a very very good football player.

He is quite a bit ahead of all of our midfielders.

If we got him hed be our Captain in 2 years time.

The guy just tore us a new one . Underestimating him is at our own peril.

Didnt Lyon say he was the best player in the comp 3 years ago? Now I certainly don't buy that and I wouldn't go that far - but hes comfortably in the top 25.

Not as good Pendlebury but he would be top 10 comfortably.

Reality is the Pies have 5 midfielders ahead of our number 1. Pendles Thomas Swan Beams Sidebottom....

Chuck in Cloke and they have 6 players in the AFL top 50. We only have 1 - Roo.

Its sad and depressing but true.

Sooner target Daniel Rich or one of the gold coast or Gws mids.
I would put Thomas nearer the bottom of their mids rather than the top. He does not spend a huge amount of time in the middle. He is a good player but still overated gets too flashy and a bit inconsistent , not the sort I would be throwing big money at.

Got it on pretty good authority that he will probably be a blue next year. I think its Blues or stay at Pies, money has little to do with it. As good as he was, he is not what we need.

It's funny watching with the volume off - I didn't even realise Thomas was playing until I saw him in the top 4, lol

Wow I thought he was good and better than Swan last night. pendlebury was prob their best. I would have him for sure. We need outside runners not more grunt mids like Armo, Steven and Seb Ross. even back ups seem top be in that style- Ledger etc.

Montagna is still doing heaps but with out dal up at his usual standard we need that type. I would pay him plenty in a front end contract. Ball those mofos.

Thomas is bloody fast
I noticed at one stage he just totally blew of newnes.
None of our young mids have that serious.pace where they.just.blow you off in ten steps.

Doubt you could of had z easier night than Daisy last night. Stat padding while chipping it around the backline is hardly hard. Armo and Steven earnt their touches. Next thing you'll use Supercoach points.

34 at 85% but youre right. Hes a dud.

Lucky you dont get fooled by stats and know more about footy than every single commentator on the planet who gave him 2 or 3 votes.

But hes no good and dont believe coaches votes either. They dont know anything about footy either.

I think we should chase him. Very good player. Will be 26 at the start of next season.
4 years at $750k, that contract sounds familiar!

They are not great players, they are legends.

Thomas is a good player at the moment. Consistency could see him a great player, but will never be a legend.
