Fletcher generally takes the third tall and plays off them. We already have a plethora of players suited to doing that and Ferguson is another. We need someone to take Cloke, J Riewoldt, J Brown, Pavlich, Waite, Kennedy etc. We need a Glass, Rutten or McPharlin type, not Fletcher.
How about a Fisher type, will he do?
Hearing him interviewed the other week, I think he wants the role as well.

He shouldn't play unless his form warrants it. Wilkes looks a better bet as at full forward and if we want a second ruckman Stanley and Blake would be ahead of Kosi (IMO). Blake should stay on for depth.

Very versatile player and still playing good football.

Kosi should retire.

Peake, Polo, Crocker and CJ will be delisted. Raph and Ray may also go.

Dunell and Tom Curren (TC) will be elevated.

Winmar will be delisted and then rookied, as he has a contract for next year

Of the rookies Archer will be delisted and probably Shenton as well.

Don't know what to do with Ferguson. He's not ready to be elevated, but I'd like to keep him.

i dont live in vic so cant get to the vfl games but hasnt shenton been good towards the end of the season? seems strange to bring a player over from SA and then delist them after 1 year

Fingers crossed.
Perhaps, but it'd take a big change in game style and as you said, 2-3 years of weights. He's simply not an option to play on big AFL talls next year.
Agree, we need to hang onto him for now though, could be very promising in a couple of years, we know all too well how hard it is to find decent tall players in every position on the ground.
Especially rovers!!

Better and only 19.
Id be gutted if we lost Ferg. And as well all know, decent tall defenders are bloody hard to find.

He'd be able to play a few games in the seniors next year if he has a strong pre-season. No doubt for me.

Fisher can play Full Back. But even with Fisher playing FB this year in the second half we were still short one big defender. Plus what happens in weeks he is out?

Gilbert is tall...but does not play like a big defender. ....and is best used in roles that exploit his pace and run.

CJ stays -according to Watters at his press conference after the Carlton game. Said he sees a role for CJ next year. Can't see him publicly saying that and then delisting him.

Gram worked a lot harder yesterday than a few other experienced players...if anything I would like to see NDS traded.

Why would you trade our best ball user? Gram should stay on a reasonable contract. His last 2 games have been excellent on top of a good season.

No way should we get rid of Dal unles of course it was an offer far to good to refuse. At the very least Dal would be an ideal half back with his ball use.

Gram, Goddard and NDS should never play in the backline, due to they have no defensive side especially one out. All should play centre or forward of centre

gram played in the backline with a defensive role for most of the second half of the season, and did a pretty good job.
