Karl Langdon reported on 6PR last night that Goddard has agreed to a 4 yr deal with Freo. Karl Langdon does have a track record of just making things up tho.ugh

Saints will have to match the offer otherwise they lose him for nothing. Crazy f****** rule

No, I believe if we let him go now we get the compensation pick.

If we match it, Goddard can choose to stay here or if he wants to go we can do a proper trade (probably best case scenario) or he can leave, ala Luke Ball.

Correct me if I'm wrong?

He didn't do much this game either. Apart from elite kicking skills what does he offer?

Think he is gone, doubt we can match what others will offer. I will be happy if he stays though and he gets back to his best. If his form does not reverse then he is not worth salary cap pressure anyways if we do match an offer.

When Lennie was being interviewed on the ABC 774 after the game he was asked a little about BJ and he said that BJ is in Roos wedding party and that he thought BJ "would be right" and then he walked past and Lennie called him over to the interview and said "Hey, mate you stayin? You signing on for next year or what?" and BJ goes "Gee I hope so ..." and they both laughed.
Read into this what you will - but I think he definitely WANTS to stay.

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

Saints do get a draft pick if he goes via free agency. It is not clear what draft pick we would get though. One would hope it is around 10. But I have no idea!
At least they say this year is a good draft

He wants to stay , its all about the money ! The club will pay whats he worth , not what he and his manager think he's worth . The club have been dudded by paying to much for players in the past , for little return .
Watters and pelchen are probably looking towards 2013 without him . So if he goes he goes !

What pisses me off about free agency is that its being bought in while some clubs still have more to spend in their salary cap's .
It's BS that all clubs don't have the same sized cap .
But the Afl are all about inadequacies !

If he can't commit to the club right now, then I would just say pee off. Obviously earning hundreds of thousands per year while you are in your twenties is really hard I expect.

I have a good source who says they are 10-20k apart with also a few other indorsement contracts not quite there.
But the general view is pretty much we'lll be cool. A good source, but really like most of this, take it with a grain of salt
because we all know how these things can change
