Good post BM agree with all your delistings.

Hopefully Watters Collingwood training has taught him a bit about young player development.

He really needs to unearth a few Colllingwood-type gems next season or we are rooted like Carlton!

Shenton is gone. We have Siposs, Markworth and Dunell who play the same position and aren't useless like he is.

Good recruiting should mean looking at our weaknesses and then trying to recruit to fix that problem. Our biggest problem is the key positions down the spine- FB, CHB, CHF and FF, and ruck! Roo has chronic knee issues and will not hold CHF beyond the next season. Kosi has had it, and we have no top class FB or CHB. We have a good flankers, but not the real strong agile bodies. I would at least offload some players in order to get a FB and FF

Agree, Shenton was a disgrace yesterday. And think Markworth and Dunell are looking good. Markworth really growing in confidence quickly.

Great post! All players mentioned I was ranting about yesterday (unfortunately including Winmar).

Reckon Archer's only chance is to play him as a key defender (at a stretch). No way he can make it anywhere else.

I Dislike reding through massively long posts with quote after quote.... and I don't really know how to, more to the point...

But Defacto to start his post with

What you normally write is utter s*** and then say but this is OK was patronizing and arrogant......

P66 - I think it's pretty safe to assume that these 'clear delistings' are the writer of the threads opinion.....especially when it starts..... As it stands I RECKON....

NICE TRY THOUGH

What was it again..... TOO EASY

You had a go at someone for not saying IMO. You didnt say it either in the title. I reckon the person you had a go at would have thought that as he wrote it it would be his opinion. Seriously you come across as an arsehole. Could be wrong. You may just be a complete prick.

Maybe I do to you, but that's not a bad thing.....

There was a pretty clear distinction I would have thought.... My IMO was about players, which is the point of a forum. Defacto just made a personal swipe, and the followed it with a back handed compliment... I didnt appreciate it so returned a comment.

You obviously think weak as piss gutless, personal swipes are OK because they are your MO

BTW why did you enter the debate again???? You need to let it go old boy..

serious?

why would gws give up their best ruckman or a very promising young key forward for gram or raph or peake?

for that matter, why would essendon give up a 23 year old ruckman who's shown a bit and only missed a couple of games this year?

as for silvagni, he's the same size and shape as simpkin, who we already have. what's the point there?

if you want to talk about trading, you'll need to be realistic.

the worst thing is we are going to have to go through the usual annual hilarity about trades.

"Patton for raph peake and gram" or other completely ridiculous situations.

the only chance we are of getting a decent young player is trading BJ or NDS or in the normal national draft

One of the classier and most corageous comments I have read on this site. I gather you don't think he is captain material.

Our list managers have an incredibly difficult job ahead of them, particularly if they are planning to maintain or improve on the current level of competitiveness for the short to medium term.

However, I think the really hard decisions have to be made and we have to take our medicine, while accepting middle to lower ladder positions for the next 3 years.

The reality is that we have no genuine FB , CHB, CHF, or FF over the height of 194cm in the making other than Stanley. Simpkin is an undersized defender, as we know, and Ferguson strikes me as a Gilbert type. It will take a minimum of three years to recruit and develop at least some of that group, and by that stage Riewoldt, Koschitzke, Fisher, and Blake will be history. Let's hope and pray that Lever is going to make the grade.

Being able to trade players for draft picks is critical this year, and if Goddard goes, I see it as an opportunity rather than a loss. The only other players we can afford to lose and have some trade currency are Gilbert and Gram, but we won't be getting gold-plated draft picks in return for those two.

The club is at a critical juncture, and we have to accept that they may need to be more ruthless than they would prefer to be in relation to our senior players.

If GWS were to pick up BJ this year, would we only get one pick as compensation?
If that is the case, why dont we use him to get one of the gun 17 yr olds? They would be better players than one picked at mid or late first round.

Why would we only get one pick? They would surely give us a first rounder and even another late in the first round.

Just quote people if you're directly replying.

You only avoid doing it to confuse other posters from showing how illogical you are with your thought process. Nothing worse than having a quote or two outlining just how wrong you are time and time again.

Actually, funily enough, at first I thought BM was attacking me when the whole IMO thing reared it's head. I guess maybe the quote option is a good idea if you are responding to a poster from several entries back.
Reckon Clarke is gone (no remarkable insight there), Blakey will retire, Gram will be traded/delisted, Winmar, Polo, Archer, Shenton, Ferguson will all be moved on, and Goddard will move north or west. Kosi may well retire methinks.
Lenny will defo play on IMO.

Really?

Been a consistent player over 3 coaches, nearly 10 years, numerous grandfinals and so forth

certainly more emotive dribble I think
