"Put to death what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil and envy, which is idolatry". Only through following the saints and suffering through that journey, will you obtain spiritual enlightment. Can we fit that on a bumper sticker? Don't know if I want to give up the fornication bit.

I am at an absolute loss to explain why I love this club so much.

I just do.

I have the shield permanantly inked on my skin as a sign of my devotion and when asked to explain why I just cant. I have to give a simple answer that answers nothing

I just do.

That's as good an explanation as I've heard, Hurricane. I feel exactly the same way. I'd just like to know why I do.

Just had a few thoughts on addiction that I thought I'd share with my fellow forumites (Addicts). Historically, addiction has been defined as physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances (for example alcohol, tobacco, heroin, caffeine and other drugs) which cross the blood-brain barrier once ingested, temporarily altering the chemical milieu of the brain.

Addiction can also be viewed as a continued involvement with a substance or activity despite the negative consequences associated with it. Pleasure, enjoyment or relief from actual or perceived ailments would have originally been sought. However, over a period of time involvement with the substance or activity is needed to feel normal. Some psychology professionals and many laypeople now mean 'addiction' to include abnormal psychological dependency on such things as gambling, video games, food, sex, pornography, computers, internet, work, exercise, adrenaline, idolizing, watching TV or certain types of non-pornographic videos, spiritual obsession, self-injury, shopping and of course, irrational loyalty to the saints!

The American Society of Addiction Medicine begins their definition of addiction by describing it as "a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry." It would appear this definition dooms us all to slavishly follow the saints, at least until that elusive, second flag comes along. When it does, we'll really be hooked. There is no escape. We are sainters for life!
