Good for Harvs to move IMO.

I felt when he came back after only 2 yrs at 1 other club that he hadnt really broken the bonds with the club and he needs to in a way to mould himself as a serious coaching contender.

Certainly didnt feel he was ready for the senior job - club probably sent the wrong message by caretakering him.....but again I sure there was no malice.

it,ll be a strange feeling should harvey join luke and max in winning a flag with collingwood. but if it one day means he leads us to one, it'll be worth it.

Strange feeling indeed, but as a Saints supporter I would begrudge Robert Harvey nothing.

Very difficult to stay on as an assistant to someone you have just directly competed with for the top job, he will be much better for the move down the track IMO, needs a few more years at a few different clubs to build up the knowledge required to become a head coach.

As Whitney Houston said "...& I e I e I will always love you ...."

Nothing could erode what he has done for us, good luck to him whatever he does.

Still appreciating Banger's wonderful work

Harves spoke very clearly, measured and focused like a coach needs to.
He sounded understandably pained at not getting the main gig @ this moment in time. His determination was clear when he described how he had to become extremely focused at puishing himself up through the layers of coaches on the up until he had everything he needed to be recognised as someone who could definately coach at the highest level.
If there is one player you want to keep succeeding in the direction he wants to go it is Robert Harvey !

With his determination and balanced mentality i now believe he will make it at the highest level. The next guy interviewed on the radio show happened to be a St. Kilda supporter too - a pretty articulate guy (Muldoon is his name) pointed out somewhat humerously thet we St. Kilda supporters eat pain for breakfast. In refering to the recent grand final losses he went on to say that the biggesttruckload of pain he had to swallow while fighting back the tears was the loss to hawthorn in the finals game that marked the end of Robert Harveys career.

A great double interview for things St. Kilda on SEN.

Anyway wishing Nb.35 every success from here on in

GO BANGER! :)

GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

I didn't hear the interview, but the fact that Harv's took a few days to make a final decision indicates to me that he very much weighed up his opportunities.
I believe his heart wanted to stay, but his head said he should get more experience elsewhere.
He just didn't spit the dummy and walk out, if he had, he would have left last Monday.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

some one mentioned him noting the strength of the core playing group-- and I'm not sure I heard it on the podcast.
