Why does a St. Kilda assistant coach and Misson make the newspapers, radio and TV news bulletins when they leave but NO ONE ELSE from any other club is mentioned.
Whenever the head coach goes walkin then usually the broom comes through and the majority (if not all) of the coaches get tossed out. This will happen at the bulldogs, Demons, Crows and freo and yet no mention of those blokes.
Why the double standards from the press?

Exactly.Winmar wrote:It always happens. Usually when a coach is sacked all the assistants quit almost immediately. In this case the coach walked, but they're all leaving over the following few days anyway.
Usually part of the job interview involves the Applicant advising who he'll bring in.
And as far as our Assistant Coaches go, I don't recall too much excitement being expressed about our 2011 panel. SOS & Tudor in the past maybe, but who on here raved on about Kingsley, Berbakov & Hudson when they were announced?

I have no issues with harves, kingy and kingsley. The rest were all lyon disciples. Who was the blonde knob in the box? Always saw him sniffing lyon at the pub like a gay lap dog.
I hope not. He is in charge of recruiting.Con Gorozidis wrote:Pretty sure elshaugh went years ago.MCG-Unit wrote:

The loss of Misson is a disaster.
He was responsible for getting the players back on and staying on the field.
Losing players to injury can kill any coach - ask Mark Harvey.

Jeez...Hysteria mounting here.
Collingwood is being stripped of Assistant Coaches - Neeld and maybe Watters - while their season
is STILL GOING, and while they are prepping for Finals.
Berbakov and Misson depart (pushed?) after Saints' season is done and dusted, and
after Senior Coach departs.
You tell me, in the life of a footy club, which is the more normal situation....

it seems increasing ly that senior coaches are NOT getting assistants of their own choice
most are going solo and even then rather than putting a group together and are retaining some of what is there-
Hird positions put in by club-
Sanderson -Bickley staying
a couple of the other clubs the same
have read that harves wil be around regardless of who gets top job.
this to my knowledge is new to AFL in the last 2 years-
