I think cats will beat dawks and we can knock them off if we win first up.

Wet toast are not unbeatable at home - scum could beat them for sure

We get to a prelim v filth, we have a good chance.

And sorry, but filth are nowhere near bummers of 2000, or lions of 01-03, or cats at their peak.

What do you base the pies arent as good as those side theory on? They will have probably won 21 out of 22 and have one of the highest % ever. The game they lost was less than a goal and they were very unlucky in that game.

If I was a top 4 team i would fear what we can do. I hope we hit the finals like a wrecking ball on speed and if we don't win the big one we at least take a few teams with us.

As much as i hated saying it but this Pies team is on its way to history. Could be one of the best team's ever. Their season has been outstanding.

The good thing about AFL is the fact that is not in the bag for any team. One horrible day at the office and it's all over. Anyone can lose on their day any one can win. A little confidence and a little luck can do wonders.

Just my opinion. When I rate history's best teams, I take into account the comp standard for that year. Admittedly, the bummers stood out in 2000 not just because they were a gun team but the others weren't that good

The Lions of 2003 - lost first final, came back to win their next 2, including a prelim in Shytney - then won the GF by 50 pts for the triple. Best team I've seen, along with probably dawks of 88/9

Wouldn't it be a tragedy if the filth didn't win it?

I wouldn't want to be the player that stuffed it up for them...all that heavy, heavy expectation. I mean, they've already won it haven't they?

Favorites don't always win. Were they favorite this time last year? Things change quickly.

*Allegedly.

U have NFI as usual Stevie. Lose the blinkers.

Nowhere near? Oh golly gosh.

That's as classic a case as filth hatred as I have seen on here.

Not really. Heaps of footy fans would agree. I've been watching the game far longer than you

I understand the people who feign surrender to cushion the emotional impact if we were to drop out of the finals. Fair enough, you're a saints supporter.

I'm going in with blind belief.

I don't agree that we aren't good enough. I belive we are.

We would have beaten collingwood with some accurate kicking.
We almost beat carlton
We lost to the cats by 1 point.

They aren't that far ahead of us. A different bounce of the ball this or that way, a few extra goals here and there we would be top 4 after the most horrdendous, disgraceful, crucified to the
tree of woe preseason ever. Amazing bloody effort to be this far.

I suspect you people are simply trying to keep us under the radar (and keep your own spirits under the radar). Perhaps it is a good thing.

We must finish this year hard and fast. There's a lot of fun footy to be had by the saints players over the next few weeks. No expectation from
external sources, must be good. Enjoy the opportunity of being young, fit and being able to run around a field with
the adrenaline pulsing and the roars of thousands of fans.

Millarsaint brilliant.

'Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.'

I've carried the signature all year 'Rise and rise again....until lambs become lions'.

Never give up and you'll be surprised at the results.
100% agree.

I would rather believe we were unstoppable and be proven a fool than believe that we were finished and be proven wise.

Teams won't have to make the effort to stop us if we stop ourselves.

Your belief is integral to the club's success.

Feel bruised from decades of disappointments? Stand up and fight or get out and don't pollute our ambition with bitterness and pragmatism; this is football, not accountancy. If you dare not believe after this comeback, then congratulations; you'll ever get hurt again. Now leave the theatre of dreams and don't speak to us staying in the audience lest you destroy our experience.

This is not just hollow belief in the impossible, this is facing the unlikely and giving yourself a chance. Get on or get off.

Just My Opinion

Good call, seems like most on here want to be right by calling us gone early. It is probably because some are emotionally inequipped to deal with losing some past GFs, it might help if they hardened the FU and got on with seeing how far we can go on a heap of will power and fighting spirit. This is going to be the most enjoyable ride into the finals, FA expectations and an incredible amount of guts to pick ourselves up and go again.

"This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, a lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber."

The Dude (Jeff Bridges), The Big Lebowski.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
