No. He was back Wednesday so he was on annual leave on Sunday so the paper is right if it was Baker.
Fair enough then, so why would Greg Hutchison wait until next week to talk to Baker about it....is he on annual leave?

Big deal.
No charges no issue.
Typical gutter journalism, couldn't care which club it was.
This is not news.

The Age now reporting Bakes as the second player

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/h ... 18gy6.html

"St Kilda Football Club is refusing to comment today on a fight involving star players Steven Baker and Lenny Hayes at a Prahran nightclub this week.

The Age understands Baker was the second player injured in the scuffle at Love Machine nightclub, after Hayes' identity was revealed in a report earlier today."

i.e. the headline: St Kilda players in boozy brawl. That is completely inaccurate: a) not a brawl and b) they were not drunk.
according to the police they were

'Hayes suffered a cut to his nose, which may have been broken, while the second player was punched in the eye socket. Police arrived at the scene to find the players, who played in this year's drawn and losing grand finals, allegedly inebriated."

..wtf they doing in a night club at 5 in the morning.....

same thing anyone else is - having fun. sounds like a last hurrah for their off-season before pre-season training starts, not a bad plan if you ask me.

They got drunk, so what, not like they have a game the next day or even back in training, so they have done nothing wrong. Not surprised it is Bakes as they are good mates. I just object to the way it was reported, not really saying they started it but suggesting it was a possibility. We all know Lennys character, so its gutter journalsim.

Whatever the story I'm sure it will pale into insignificance when compared to another alcohol fuelled incident 49 weeks ago.

And for that we should all be very, very grateful.

5am. Go home, boys.

Dumb.

Why? They're on leave...

What other job resricts your movements in your private time? There's no hint yet that they instigated anything, as far as I like they can do whatever they like in their own time...

I feel so sorry for footballers in this day and age, they deserve every cent that they get with this ridiculous scrutiny and expectation that they live their life like a monk...

I said nothing about drunk nor that they shouldn't do what they want.

But doesn't make it less stupid.

So you don't reckon as an AFL player being out at 5am in the morning sober or not is dumb.

Okay. You're entitled to the view, but it's naive and wrong.

Sad it may be that they can't do what you are I might on our holidays, but they're dumb for exposing themselves to the inevitable.

They're a different class of people. Bogan society has demanded it of them. They know that. They have it drilled into them by clubs that pay their players to not only play footy but also sell memberships and put bums on seats and attract sponsors to keep the dreams of fans alive.

If I was either of them, I'd avoid 5am at the Love Machine like the plague... They didn't. Look what happens...

Dumb as. Senior players, too. Turbo extra dumb.

a) it involves St Kilda and there's no footy to talk about
b) it involves St Kilda and there's no footy to talk about

There you go Dodge. Honest questions, honest answers. You could learn something.

I reckon Lenny would be most disappointed in Lenny.

As for them fighting one another, that would be a little concerning.

However, watching the footage of Bakes and Ross laughing at training yesterday, I am just not reading that St Kilda is very worried about it all.

So people can only post on games? Thanks for clearing that up RF.

In that case you're right, none of this has anything to do with St Kilda!
