COLLINGWOOD has moved quickly to bolster its depleted coaching ranks, with Craig McRae and Matthew Lappin joining the club.

They replace Paul Hudson, who has moved to the Saints, and Luke Beveridge.
+ Gavin Brown who went to Carlton.

Brown to Blues must sting the Pies faithful.

He was Pie royalty.
if there were such a thing.
says a lot though that someone would prefer the visy dump over westpac.

Urm...a bit like Banger preferred it over Moorabbin...

development coach.

he's a good kick and hopefully will spend some time with gilbert over summer.
I mentioned we should nab him for his kicking...then remembered Travis Cloke plays for Collingwood, plus their woeful conversion rate, and thought it best to stay quiet.

Well Hudson was a beautiful kick.

So either he is a bad teacher.
Or Cloke is a dumb pupil.

Cloke wasn't the only dud kick in the team...the Pies make us look pretty good, if you're to take there perennial excuse for losing to us of "oh, we didn't kick straight" onboard.

Always been a fan of Paul Hudson's though, thought he was a good footballer who spent the best part of his career stuck in lousy teams.

BTW, avatar...great shot with that kick drum...ouch!

Cloke is unreliable in the way Loewe was. Given too long to think he shanks them.

But the pies style is to attack wide and when corralled take a shot, often out wide and from a fair distance out. They then zone up to stop the ball coming out.

It is low percentage risk taking football but they back themselves to win the 50/50 ball.

I can't imagine Ross ever going so cavalier but wouldn't mind seeing us try a little more risky footy, maybe Hudson can get them a little more unpredictable.

Huddo's on the team as a development coach though, not a tactical forward coach, is that right?

The Pies had to play that way, to utilise players like Didak, Thomas, Dick, Davis, etc. Our 'mosquitoes' are far more likely to take a set shot, which fits in with our style of play. You're right, I can't see Ross being as cavalier either...he'd be after something more consistant with set plays and several drilled options.
