Maybe set up a long option straight down the middle like Freo do? Benny mac sets up with smalls behind and swooping in from the sides, Gwilt or BJ can hit it 60 + fairly consistantly. Could work if we are having trouble?
Sandilands is about 210cm, that's why they have that get out option. Even though Kosi and McEvoy are strong contested marks, if we are going to do that I'd much prefer it boundary side than through the middle.

In fact, a better option might be to have one of our quicker smaller players lead to the opposite side of the ground - as you said we did appear a bit stagnant. A Schneider or Milne maybe splitting off the pack (as it always seems player crowd one side of the ground) and the person kicking in honouring their lead.

Dont butcher the ball by foot

Collingwood are very capable of getting their own footy, they dont need us handing it to them on a platter like we did time and time again yesterday.

MUST.HIT.TARGETS

Oh...and dont handpass to a bloke standing still with a Pies opponent about a foot away. Yes Farren Ray Im talking to you

Oh. And meant to say: GET IN HARRY O'BRIEN'S FACE FROM THE GET GO.

Having just watched the last quarter (again), he was falling to bits.

Bit brittle is Harry, it seems.

We need to start better

Under pressure we need to bomb the ball long rather then a short kick/handball to a player under pressure

We need improved performances from Riewoldt, Dal Santo, Monty, Peak, Schnieder, Gram (drop IMO not fit) and Eddy

We need to take Maxwell and Thomas out of the game

We need McEvoy in as another tall target

We need to improve our foot skills

IMO

OUT
Gardiner
Gram

In
McEvoy
Armo/Geary

Harry O - verated.

I'd have Gwilt anyday, AA got it wrong IMO.

This draw is a bit of a bugger for Harry as he's due to fly out to New York on Thursday, where he's scheduled to meet with Hillary Clinton as part of the Mid East Peace Talks.

Nonetheless, the Thinking Man's tosser has assured Eddie that he will be able to get back in time to save the Pies, after he has saved the Free World.

Harry O may not come up....

Has a nasty teabag injury from BJ's mark.

:P

Win the centre clearance's... will need Armo.

Hit targets, and no kick over Roo's head.

Don't have a quarter like the second again!

From the stats, that was possibly about our worst quarter for the year, luckily, the Pies didn't seal the game during it........

Never, ever allow Maxwell to roam free in our backline.

Start better, I think we begin too defensively and allow the opposition to dictate the tempo which we then try to take control of; we can't allow Collingwood to get a few goals ahead while we're feeling out the game.

Don't kick it to Roo when he's got 3 magpies to contend with. Kosi is in good form, Milney and Schneider are both capable of taking a grab and now we'll have McEvoy as another marking option. I also think we'll often have Gilbert, Fisher or Goddard providing an option at any given time. We just need to pick smart options going forward.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Goldsack come in and tag either BJ or Chips. If they're getting strangled I wouldn't mind seeing them go to half forward and match up on Maxwell; it makes him accountable and both can be dangerous up forward.

Perhaps Jones runs with Thomas? Ray will most likely take Swan, Baker on Davis if he plays and Dempster to shut down Didak again. A good Lenny Hayes bump will render the already sore Pendles ineffectual. Blake did a fantastic job on Brown, just do it again.

Collingwood are really leaving themselves vulnerable by not having a designated tagger or two. They might bring in Goldsack to take someone but they're not going to be able to shut down Lenny, BJ, Joey and Dal.

Dawson was fantastic and Cloke's mental state would be terrible right now, hopefully his nerves get the better of him again. Gwilty was superb on Dawes.

If we can get a hold of them early, shut down their big runners and we get a greater output from Dal, Gram and Peake then we're in with a very good shot. I can't see Roo being held down two weeks in a row.

If anyone has seen the torp that goddard did against freo at subi a couple of years ago thats a play that we take a risk on down the middle. You've seen how far his drop punts go imagine the torp!

I'd like to see BJ up forward more often

There was comment that Lenny and BJ cant play that well again - I disagree, plus, a few of our guns have upside;

Roo was just average by his standards - plus he should be fresher with his truncated season

Dal and Joey can do more...

This.

2nd half was all Saints.

More 2nd half, less 2nd quarter.

That is all.
