im tipping there is a fair bit of coin on the pies to compensate the bookies if the saints win?Cairnsman wrote:The bookies have to mitigate the risk of some big payouts to some punters that have heavily backed the saints for the flag. They are down millions if the saints win the flag so the odds for this week could be to throw the barracuda punters circling the saints off the scent and hopefully attract the opportunists towards the dogs.
With all due respect to St Kilda, they are well over the odds. 3pts and 7pts last 2 games (admittedly no Cooney for them and + Rooey for us) and the NAB towelling- yes if I were a neutral I'd be hopping on Footscray at the line.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Agree with this. Keep trying to talk myself into it - surely will win.markp wrote:I reckon there's a 90% chance they'll fold like Freo.
But I am quietly sh1tting myself over the other 10%.
Then the little 10% of doubt keeps coming back.
The game against Essendon earlier this year where we were very short (around $1.20 I think), keeps coming back to me, then I think surely not.
Everyone thinks we'll do it. I so hope they are right.....

I am hoping the Saints take the game on in light of last nights game just to unsettle the Pies a little. they were dominant last night and will be full of confidence, if we grind out a win they will turn up with high expectations. Could be good to not hype them up, but personally I'd like them to go hard.
