Just one example:

Port Adelaide in 2004. Beaten by North (by 91 points) in Round 7 or so and beaten comfortably by Essendon (at Telstra Dome) in Round 17 or so.

Still rallied at the right time and won the flag.

The Saints can still do it. Then again, all this is just hot air at the moment. The boys have to dig deep and make it happen.

I agree with everton. Last year was our year to win it. Great run with injuries, great mentality and approach to the game.

Everything went right last year, except we didn't kick accurately in the grand final.

At least we don't have to worry about grand final tickets this year folks!

Lets sit back and let geelong and collingwood battle it out.

We've had our time and it just wasn't enough to get the flag. You can't say the club didn't give it everything because we sure the hell did and it's something to be proud of.

I've never seen a stkilda side this good and disciplined, it was a pleasure to behold.

But it's not enough.

Goodnight.

It's quite funny watching people fall to bits when things go slightly pear-shaped.

When we lost to Port earlier in the year I turned into a dribbling idiot for a couple of weeks.

It's an emotional game, granted. But yes, at least a basic hardening of one's exterior is important! :D

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

hey it doesnt look fantastic but peeps are comparing this year to last year imo

look at the swans, port, crows, the hawks
no one expected them to win GFs

everyone expects it to be pies or cats
let them keep thinking it

My real concern this year is that some of our weaknessess have been exploited better than last year by the opposition, and also our forward line is not winning contested balls.
