Huh? Appreciate his abilities? Did he not play every finals game with us last year????
Answer: YES
Did the club offer him a contract for the next 2 years?
Answer: YES
Did he then decide to walk out on the club and playing group that he supposedly loved?
Answer: HELL YES
In short he walked, we did not push him, nor did we at anytime say that he wasnt wanted.
If your still hung up about him start following Collingwood!
Interesting because he seems to be doing for Collingwood exactly what he was doing for us. As it happens he averaged more disposals and more tackles last year than he is this year.
Funnily enough he hasn't been dropped multiple times from a side that's currently on top of the table and you can bet your life on the fact that should Collingwood make the GF he'll play more than 46% of the game.
Interesting that we thought his output last year wasn't good enough yet he's statistically doing less for Collingwood while playing more minutes.
Of course statistics don't tell the whole story but, if you ask me, he's not doing anything more this year. The only thing that has changed is that he's no longer getting axed on a regular basis.
Still, AFL players love it when they go back to the VFL and I'm sure Ball loved the week to week competition with Geary, Armitage and Rob Eddy to see who would make the side. He must've been over the moon after getting into the GF side ahead of Rob Eddy and then playing such a vital role in the biggest game of his life.
