Nice game from Ben, really good mark on him.

People were posting threads last week bagging him, can't be bothered bumping them, but they went way to early on a kid that needs some games under his belt.

Well you constantly bag him, you posted he should not be in a Saints premiership team, and now you go out of your way to bag him in a thread about a different player.

He spent considerably less time up forward but looked far more potent and had a bigger impact on the scoreboard than Kosi. The biggest difference between the two is that McEvoy was taking strong "one grab" marks while Kosi saw the ball slip through his hands time and again. It's gotta be a confidence thing because Kosi at his best can pluck then out of the air as good as anybody. Similarly, when McEvoy has struggled his marks haven't stuck either.

For the first time McEvoy has shown something that King hasn't - and that's in front of goal. If McEvoy continues to contribute on the scoreboard, and take strong marks around the ground like Gardiner does, then he will be doing his job

Can't really comment on his ruckwork today, I didn't pay too much attention to that.

Had 9 hitouts, pretty much on par with Kings last few games, but as you said....an added bonus of contested marking and goal kicking.

He had a very productive second half. It seemed his confidence really lifted after kicking his first goal. He was going for contested marks with real authority.

Great to see the big guy step it up!

it's not his fault really. he tries his guts out, but just isn't working as the main focal point of the attack.

I wonder if it wouldn't hurt leaving him in the goal square. No leading up the ground or anything, just leave him right in front of goal. He's a strong mark, albeit a bit better running into a pack than one-on-one - but things aren't really clicking for him right now.

Macca was very good.
Kosi was very bad-how many times did Kosi get both hands to the ball for it to go straight through.

Good game by McEvoy. I think we're much better off persisting with him than bringing back King. The more games he plays now the better he'll be in a year or two. If he can kick a few goals it'll be a real bonus.

Put McEvoy at full forward, he will provide better value than Kosi.
Then play Kosi as the 2nd ruck where he has more mobility than McEvoy.
