Exaclty.... Its not just getting selected, he needs game time... Less than 50% TOG last week... It would be hard for him to get a feel of the game, particularly in the position he plays...
He clearly has talent, and King offers nothing more than Ben does... The reality is King does nothing except use his body a little more effectively than Mac, which is of no real advantage...
Unless Gardi gets injured, King should not play senior footy again this year... Both Mac or Stanely must be used as the second ruck from now on, or even Kosi...
Mac will come good, and the best way to fast track this is TOG....
If Mcevoy doesnt perform, drop him and if King is ready and playing good footy bring him in. It cant be good that Mcevoy a young ruckmen thinks he is an automatic inclusion because he is young, i dont think that helps development.

While I agree in principle with what you say, why on earth would McEvoy think he is an automatic inclusion?
It's taken an injury to King to enable Ben to have another chance. I don't think he's taking his inclusion for granted at all!

They take up to six years... most time 8 to become dominant.
We have a fairly big gap (between Gard/King and Mac/Stan) and I was hoping something freakish from Mac!

Give him time in the forward line to develop.

He was never regarded as equal to Kruezer. Kruezer went pick one because he was regrded the best player. Ben went pick 9 which was about where people thought he may go. And IMO he is a ruckman. To slow for the forward line so he rucks or doesnt play.
Kruezer was always regarded as the best mobile ruck / forward, while Ben was always picked to be the best 'classic' tap ruckman of his age.
Everyone knows the tap ruckman is a specialist artform thats only perfected after years of learning timing and the art of jumping into your opposition. Remeber Benny Mac is still growing into his body. I know different type of player, but how long did it take Goddard to learn how to use his body against seasoned AFL players after dominating at junior levels for so long? Ages.
Massive difference in playing style between Kruez and Benny. Benny is a far more physical player and as such will take longer to develop.
Ben just wants to shove his opponent around at boundary throw-in contests.
Then he doesn't even get to the drop of the ball.
He refuses to go for the ball.
8 hitouts, 8 handpasses is not a ruckman.
It is someone who should be pushing Big Macs at McDonalds.

Not now, but in about 10 weeks time, if he is still playing below par and Kingy is back playing good footy in the magoos, I want King back in and Mcevoy out, I want him to earn his spot.

Honestly it kills me to think we wasted a first round draft pick on Ben. He is a great big dud. Slow clumsy and only good for rucking against dinosaurs. Another great draft choice. Our young kids are great at the moment
