When will the dumb-ar$e nuffies, (who probably couldn't run around the block, fend off a mildly peeved geriatric, or remove a splinter without tears) get off the backs of players who have earned the honour, and been deemed worthy to represent the Saints???

I thought Goodes was trying to kick the goal and got lucky that someone was standing where the misdirected kick ended up.
From watching the replay it looked to me like Goodes actually meant that kick to go to Bradshaw.

Agree, esp with no Fisher.

I'm glad he smashed Tadgh. Game in the balance. 50/50 pill. He launched eyes for the ball and wasted the man in the process.

Even if it may have been a mark...

Reckon he'll be okay.
His first contact was fist hitting the ball.
Knocked it out of the players hands resullting in the umpire ruling mark not completed.
He must be ruled as going for the ball although I thought the ball punch was later than the umpire ruled.
The contact was in the follow through.

To cite Dawson the match review panel would first have to claim the umpire was wrong and the incident not part of the marking and spoiling contest.
AND we all know Demetriou's umpires are never wrong.

How has Dawson - one of the most popular players last year - lost the love of the masses so quickly?

He's a fullback: if you can't think of any out and out mistakes, and his opponent gets < 3, he's had a good night.

Forget rust, Daniel Bradshaw is exactly the kind of FF that Dawson will be prone against 1-on-1. While he may not be Hudghton on the lead, it's worth noting the only 3 other guys of the last decade with that degree of success against leading forwards are Presti, Scarlett and Glass. Bradshaw is one of the best in the AFL in a foot planted ball-drop contest, and it is the job of Dawson's backline teammates to ensure that contest doesn't happen regardless of opponent.

Dawson is good on the lead, good in the air. He's a bit lightweight, so we'll forever be worried about him being one out against a Hall or Fev.

I suggest it's not Dawson's form that's "worrying", it's that of the backline and midfield for allowing Inside 50s and effective coverage. If the Saints get the pressure set, and their backline continues to help each otehr out - and there's no reason to think they won't - then Dawson's going to have another very solid year.
