Really great reporting. Shame the questions were all around the ticketing side of things but I guess it was tough last year with GF ticketing issues.

EM, brilliant and much appreciated.

Nice to see Saintsational get a mention....

thanks for the report

glad to hear that it was the AFL that did not allow us to create another tier of social club members and that this was just not forgotten. I think that the 60k pent on getting elderly members a seat was a underated effort from the club. I know of one very passionate saints supporter whose mum had just come out of hospital and couldn't stand. The club got her seats which is a credit to the club! With all the negative pess clubs get sometimes we do forget the great things they do.

Pretty positive night by the sound of it. Nice to hear that there were only serious questions and no grandstanding which has grated in past AGM's

The room was small but almost every seat was taken.
Would have been at least 200, perhaps 300.

Ross is a good man, his family has a long history with the St kilda football club and I look forward to giving him a big hug on Grand Final night!

Thanks EM, great report, very much appreciated!
I wonder if Ross just reads Saintsational.
Perhaps he even posts?

THanks for the report, most appreciated.

You are right Solar, I also have heard of people in unfortunate positions that the club helped out with tickets.

You will never please everyone, but I honestly believe the club does its best for the supporters.

Great report - thanks

I was one of those SC members who was allocated standing room tickets and due to an injury to my mother the club managed to get us seats. So very grateful to them as I know they were under the pump and worked tirelessly during GF week to secure more seating.

Assuming that this means that once the club were made aware of specific cases where a seat was required that they bought packages for those effected... well done GW & the board.

And thank you for the report, EM.

Yes Great report Enrico! Just to clarify my "rant" re: GF tix. While sympathising with members who missed out on the seats they wanted, I wanted to make the point that our club did the best they could in a difficult situation, and that buying a membership should be seen first and foremost as an expression of SUPPORT FOR THE CLUB....GF tickets/seats come as a (very welcome) bonus! I thought it was one of the better AGMs that I've attended. No hoop-la or tub-thumping, more of a quietly determined approach to making our "good" club truly great.
The questions were all reasonable and were adequately answered (for this old codger anyway!)

Thanks EM from me also. My work frequently takes me interstate and overseas and this sort of effort from people like yourself helps greatly when my work life intrudes on my personal life and I cannot attend.

I post this from enemy territory (Perth Airport) but will fortunately land back in the holy city of Melbourne in time to be at the intra-club.

By a quirk of scheduling I haven't been in town when the AGM is on for about the last 4 years, but have never missed an intra-club.

Fantastic report, EM.

Interesting information especially that two directors got standing room tickets.

Are you going to the game tonight?

We're pleased to now be mid-range.

What they hell were we prior to this board taking over??

cost effective?

In any case - where's the kudos in spending the most?

I think the pleasing aspect is that they recognized a deficiency and have made an attempt to address it, not so much that we're almost keeping up with the big spenders.

In a much improved position.

Almost out of business..bankrupt, just prior to that though.

Fortunately RB, MK, GT and the rest of that era's Board (some of whom are still on the "new" Board, stepped in and then with a wizz bang CEO in BW the Club's fortunes were turned around.

Great report EM.

Did anyone from St Kilda get and say that Ross Lyon was the best coach ever....or something along those lines.

If so EM better jot it down for future reference.

Great to see that you have at last become a financial member...and joined the we.

Every membership counts. You do have a membership I assume?

10,000 more members and we could be in the top few with respect to football department spend.

Yes.
GW extended warm thanks to him.
The crowd gave Ross generous applause before and especially after his very measured and clinical speech.
Several questioners from the floor, such as the JigglingSaint paid tribute to the achievements of Ross and the Team.

So I am sure Ross went away feeling he was much loved.
