We could do a lot worse (like getting nothing), especially since he had such a great 3/4 of a season this year.
His finals form is a concern, though, although he may not even get a tag if playing in our team. It's worth remembering he had Clint Jones in his pocket when he had a quiet night against us in the final last year, and this year he may have just run out of puff after having such a great season. Next year he may be better able to run out the full year at that level, now that he knows what's involved/required.
How would any team stop all of Lovett, Dal Santo, Davis, Monty, BJ, Milne and Schneider? It would be an awesome team.

You know the old saying JB...joffaboy wrote:Well we still keep picking Milne in September.OLB wrote:I don't know about this one... for a club trying to take that final step, picking up a footballer who is notoriously bad in September isn't the greatest move I wouldn't have thought.
And for that reason, I don't think it will happen.
Better the downhill skier you know.

Would take him in a heartbeat. The two things our team lacks pace and x
factor.Lovett and Leon are both in spades.Yes Leon can go missing in finals
but so can Lovett at times. Have also heard that Leon was carrying a
niggling injury in the last 1/4 of the year so maybe that's the reason for the
late form slump. Either way, both can win matches off their own boot. If
both put in a five minute purple patch a game......

Lovett is a genuine big-game player. He's proven this on the MCG in front of big crowds a number of times IMO and until he shows us otherwise, we should have no reason to doubt it.stkfc1 wrote:Lovett and Leon are both in spades.Yes Leon can go missing in finals

It's the games away from home when he's not in front of his own supporters which he may struggle to find motivation for I reckon.
For me, Lovett lives for the big stage and cbf with anything else whereas Leon lives for the games when the Pies are 10 goals up and coasting against sh1t where he can weave around players whose confidence is already shot and begin wagging that finger in the air as if he were Peter Daicos.

A lot of talk/ rumors about it on SEN... Enough people calling up and messaging in this same rumor has made them start running with it...
Wat would we think of it if it were to happen??? Personally i'm a bit indifferent - his finals form worries me

Take it in a heart beat, as it stands we'll get nothing for Luke.
Davis was unbelievable early this year until restricted by an abdominal muscle. leon might not have been great in the first two finals but neither was Ball and was better than Milne!
