I understand the excitement and of course we are full of confidence after trouncing Collingwood last week but they really were very ordinary
FFS.
For twenty one out of Twenty three games this year, we have won with the opposition side looking pretty ordinary.
Why do they generally all look ordinary? What is the common denominator?
We make good sides look like rubbish. Our game plan causes opposition sides to cough up the ball constantly, miss targets and hear footsteps every time they get possession. Twenty one times we have done that this season.
It is not how BAD the opposition is. It is how BAD WE MAKE THEM LOOK.
We have had a whole season of this.
What is more important? Winning a final...just winning, or winning by ten goals? In the final against the filth, we just did what we had to do. It does not matter how much you win by. You just have to win.
Make no mistake, NO MISTAKE. The 2009 St Kilda side can match it with ANY of the three other sides left in the competition at the moment.
Dogs, we beat twice convincingly.
Pies, we beat twice convincingly.
Cats, we physically BROKE that team for the second half of the season.
Have faith in the game plan.
Have faith in the blokes who are going to execute it.
Enjoy it.
The 2009 Premiership is right there for the taking. And we are most certainly good enough.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
