Team of the week- Matt Burgan- AFL

It's a bit rich that Ray plays the best game of his career and gets 39 possessions and they can only squeeze him onto the bench.
Ablett however gets his usual 40 uncontested handballs that do nothing and they rave and rant about how good he is and put him on the main midfeilding spot on the team.

Though he's an overrated prick, he had a better game then Ray did....James wrote:It's a bit rich that Ray plays the best game of his career and gets 39 possessions and they can only squeeze him onto the bench.

Ablett is overrated, but still one of the 5-10 best players of the comp.

Geelong are a team of stars, whereas we really have only one genuine superstar in my opinion. We have some excellent footballers mind you, but only one real superstar. What we have though is a well oiled machine. If the cats stars have an off game (see last years GF) they are very vulnerable. I can see all sorts of blokes stepping up if one of our guys is down.Saintschampions08 wrote:Look at it properly...you'll find its a good thing.goodie wrote:We crucify a team pushing for top 4, and get two players.
Geelong comfortably beat the second lowest team on the ladder (and only after a massive first quarter) and get five.
Geelong relied on its stars: Selwood, Chapman, Scarlett, Ablett to win a game against the worst team in the comp.
I thought of the same thing you did, but when you look at it...it was a very team-orientated game, none of our players were exceptionally sensational, but they were all good.
I was thinking about the AA team, and even if we go through undefeated, (which is unprecedented) I can still see us only getting 4 blokes in the team. The cats had like about 7-8 2 years ago and last year as well.

This year's competition is a bit better then that of 2 years ago (which aside from Geelong was absolutely appalling).Moods wrote:Geelong are a team of stars, whereas we really have only one genuine superstar in my opinion. Roo is a star no doubt, but so is Montagna on this years form, and i'd be hard pressed if Hayes wasn't as well (Selwood seems to be rated as a star, though i think him and Hayes are basically equals).

In the above article, Matt Burgan says that Milney's 5 on the weekend brings his total for the year to 30. It is in fact 35.saintbrat wrote:Team of the week: round 17
