As I read the story, the newsworthy part of the story was that Gardi had been seen drinking with Fat Ange "recently" rather than, as was the case with Cousins, "earlier this year".
Perhaps "recently" means since last Thursday, which is when Fat Ange was bailed in relation to his murder charge.
If so, it is definitely poor judgement on the part of Gardi.
I must say, I cannot understand for the life of me how AFL players who are keen to convince the world that they are now "clean" can possibly think that it is a good idea for them to hang out in public with alleged major drug figures.
Anyway, Merry Xmas to Gardi, Fat Ange and all of our glorious club's other role models.

Exactly. The guy's a potsy. Forget about it!!Bono wrote:Who cares about Fat Ange. He was always hanging around the club with Jim Krakouer was playing for StK. All the players from back then know him. Thats what Ricky Nixon was referring to when he mentioned it.
As long as Gardiner's friends don't effect him or the Club (which the Club have stated empathically they don't/aren't), WTF is the problem??
Beat-up story - nothing more.
Very pleased to see it dismissed in print by the St Kilda official, too.

lol - what a cabbage
What do you and the boys at the MCC think? Or hasn't that come though yet?
Do you speak to people in real life like you do on here? Or is that strictly an internet bravado?
Why dont you come up and introduce yourself?
Or are you just another blowhard.
Oh and who the f##k are you?
It was just a question as to whether you were as rude in real life as you are online. You chose not to answer.
If I recall correctly Ben's psychologist or whatever said it would be good to talk to them in order to find out why he turned to drugs in the first place (or some bs like that).meher baba wrote:As I read the story, the newsworthy part of the story was that Gardi had been seen drinking with Fat Ange "recently" rather than, as was the case with Cousins, "earlier this year".

Anyway . . . Just because I hang out with person x, doesn't mean I necessarily condone his behaviour. There's a few guys at my footy club that do some pretty dodgy stuff but I still talk to them cos they're ok blokes.

Still hurting over your great Ross Lyon call I see. You stick to your L2 seats - makes you think you are a better Saints fan than everybody else.
All I can see is some joker who seems to think just because I am going to become a MCC member in a few years that it precludes me from being a Saints supporter
Saints66au and a few others would be interested in your incredibly silly theory.
But then again people like you who seem to think they are a better supporter than others wouldn't care for common sense would you?
Merry Christmas to you and your incredibly fragile ego and self esteem
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Merry Christmas to you as well. Not sure I put forward any theories. Just asked a simple question. Could easily have been answered in any of the following ways:joffaboy wrote:You come and find me if you want to know the answer. a) None of your business how I treat people in real life.
b) No, I don't speak to people in real life the way I speak to them on the internet.
c) Yes, I call people cabbages to their faces if I don't like their opinions.
Not too hard.
What exactly is/was my Ross Lyon call? Was it as far out as our players are mostly duds who have only been trained to kick helicopters to Gehrig so we need to replace most of the list?
Hopefully Saints66au will coming running to your injured howl and declare you A Top Bloke. Will sure make me see you in a different light.

However there does seem to be a little bit of bias and hypocrisy creeping into this thread by some.

Gardiner had plenty of time to fall off the perch during his injury time.
But he has kept his nose clean for two years.
Goodluck to him.
Though I am glad he is away from Cousin's direct influence !
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

So long as Gardiner is law-abiding, I don't really care what he does or who he mixes with.
Look, let's face it - it is a story if he was drinking with him. How could it not be?
But do I care? No. He can mix with whoever he likes
Do I worry that he is too injury-prone to play more than 10 games? Yes.
I'm glad we took the risk on trading for him and I'd do it again. We knew his history of on and off-field trouble. We also knew the upside.
We gave up little to get him. He hasn't disgraced the club one iota.
And FA was probably turning your sausages on the BBQ in the Animal Enclosure.
Long story short: I don't care who you mix with Gardy. Just don't break the law and FFS, get fit and complete a full pre-season.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
Just because they are at different clubs, it doesn't mean that they won't be able to socialise outside of football...Enrico_Misso wrote:Exactly.Eastern wrote:they will be attacking Carlton people for associating with the biggest corporate criminal in Australia's history !!

As long as they are both smart about what they do, I don't care one bit.
