Probably cos not to many ended up at the Pies!! Now let's see - Big Bill Stephenson and Alan Morrow were from Sale, Bill Young was also a Sale boy. Bill Mohr was also from Gippsland I believe (could be wrong on that one), Ray Walton, Ray Cross, Brett Knowles, Jason Gram, Brendan Goddard, Andrew McQualter, Matty Ferguson, Shane Birss there's a heap more. Kelvin Templeton was a Traralgon boy as was Bernie Quinlan. Big Barry Round was and still is a Gippsland boy. It has proven to be a fertile breeding ground for up and coming footballers. Thomas and Pendlebury are very good players. Dean Polo for Richmond. Barry Rowlands ex Haw, Rich star was from Traralgon.[/quote]

Also Bill Stephenson's kid brother Laurie was a very promising player for the Saints. He wore glasses whilst playing because he couldn't manage contact lenses all that well. Like Bill his career was cut short through injury.

Such a great breading ground for players...

Some absolute beauts there....

Full credit to that region...

Now, lets get b4e to reconsider his push for Elsternwick

(the somewhat traditional location that his Great Grand Father would somehow stop turning over in his grave about)

and get the new training facility built in that region

Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

Nah Swifts Creek up in the Omeo Valley. His Dad Mick was the "hard but" of the local league while I was there in my teens...and anyone who was involved in bush footy in the mid-70's would know that Aaron Hamill was a powderpuff compared to a few of the blokes who ran around every week in the high country
