#43 Jayden Attard (r) = end of 2008 ( id promote him)

so thats,
Shane Birrs,
Fergo,

Luke Van Rheenan, ( with Mcgrath coming through next here and the fact he is injury riddled id Possibly delist him)
Please tell me In you opinion why would you delist Birss and promote Attard??

and please give a reason

They say this draft the talent runs deep. We've got picks 13, 47, 48, 63, 79 and 95. I don't think that it's so deep that it'll run to pick 95 so I suspect that we'll take 5 players unless we get Cousins too. In that case we'll get 4. Given that that's a long shot, I won't count cousins so therefore we need 5 spots on the list.

We know that Gehrig and Harvey are out
We know that Ray and Eddy are onto the senior list

So that = 0 new spots on the list.

one would suspect that the re-signing of M. Gardiner signals the end for Rix. Rix will be replaced on the list by a new up and coming ruckman. I suspect that Van'Rheehan (spelling) is most like to be cut.

1 new spot on the list

Attard will most likely be promoted onto the senior list... if they weren't going to keep him, well there would be no sense in reatining him on the senior list.
I guess the question mark is did Dempster take his spot??? It's all academic I guess as he's out next season anyway.

0 spots on the list

So out goes
- Ferguson
- Fiora (I think Ray's arrival signals the end for him)

Thats 3 spots on the list opened up

That means we need to open up 2 more spots on the list

The candidates are
L. Fisher
Birss
Armitage
Gwilt
X
Baker
Maguire
C. Gardiner
Eljay
Jones
Blake

Of that list I'd get rid of Jones who we all know is not good enough despite his endeavour, and Eljay simply looks too far away to consider... (I'd try to pick him up as a rookie)

I have a sneaky suspicion based on nothing but gut that they figure that Baker is passed it and that one Birss or L.Fisher is not needed

that gives us 5 spots
Good post. Jones gone for sure as he played every finals game and also EJ on the way out as he is an under age player and injured most of the year. You are certain to be right.

agreed...

I really can't believe the hype on Cousins, makes me want to vomit...

Most here must believe he is the answer to better the Hawks and the Cats...

Go with youth, Cousins wont win us a premiership next year or the year after (if he lasts that long)

Fiora is the only player I want out. Had a million chances. Sure he has the ability, that's never been the question. Time to go

Delistings always a tough one for me - not picking my candidates, but we tend to let our own view colour our judgement, and I'm more interested in who actually will go.

Obviously, Harvey and Gehrig. 2 Spots 100%.

I was surprised by the Gardiner re-signing TBH - it solidifies my opinion Rix is done. 3 spots.

Other bubble players:
Baker (if he's healthy, he stays, but it's a possibility)
Maguire (a lots gone into his rehab, so I suspect he stays, but as with Baker, it's a health decision)

Ferguson (gone surely?)
Birss (has had trouble cracking the 22)
L Fisher (boy has he fallen since Lyon took over!)
Fiora (if we've got the cap room to buy him out, being outside the 22 he's become the definition of a list clogger)
C Gardiner (good for structure, struggled for personal impact)
Gwilt (I think he made the team through the 2nd half, but he's odd man out down back, and didn't kick enough goals up front)
Howard (struggled to get a game in 2 seasons, though Lyon's "4 year apprenticeship" line would suggest he's safe)
King (I assume he won't retire, but it's possible)

So, if we want 5 draftees (and I suspect with the Ray acquisition it'll be 4, and count Ray as a new player) as well as 2 or 3 promotions, we need 7 or 8 to go. My guesses would be:
Harvey, Gehrig, Rix, Ferguson, C Gardiner, L Fisher, Fiora, (and then I really struggle so go with:) Birss.

I don't think the poster ever stated the word SHOULD GO in his post...

Just why do you continue making posts that seem to be incorrect or at the very least aimed at antagonising a poster??

The poster mentioned a list of players IN HIS OPINION are CANDIDATES and NOT SHOULD GO

They won't bring in 6 kids. They won't use their later picks. they'll probably get 4, plus Cousins plus Ray is 6 in.

Harvey
Gehrig
Rix
L Fisher
McQual
Ferguson
