With the current divorce rate it is more likely that she will be married again than we will be in a prelim again any time soon.

Who in the hell decides to get married in the middle of the finals season?
I can't provide advice in this as I know the answer for me would be game first and either travel to the reception later, or take the happy couple out for a meal later.

Will have radio and earpiece at the ready and thnkfully the function is at a pub here Im sure I can find a telly to keep an eye on too

Mind you..the decision I made on Monday seemed easier than it does now!!

There in lies an interesting side issue.......for the past 3 years, the Saturday prelim has been a twlight or day game (due to interstate sides playing and travel).

WHY couldn't the AFL state mid-season that if two Vic teams were playing in the Saturday Prelim, it would be a night match???

Really not rocket science to think about it in advance and state it then is it??

.....there you go, you don't now have to blame the Saints unexpected form reversal in your conflict of interest, rather the AFL!!!

Any excuse to blame the AFL for something!!!

I too will miss the big game - have to work. Its not so bad. Part of my job involves parking and retrieving guest cars so I'll just be tuning the radio into Triple M to get the score update.

If it looks like its gonna get messy, I'll request to stay inside and avoid all radio contact. (Better if I don't work when I'm angry   )

There is no way I would go to the wedding.
Not a chance.
And if she respects you she will understand.

But I'd still send her a present.

Personally I think people who get married on Saturdays in September are just plain rude.

My cousin got married on GF day in 1970.
And my parents made me go to the wedding.
Never forgiven her.

But I haven't missed a GF since.
