Pies deny Cloke health rumours

Scott Spits | September 12, 2008 - 12:25PM

Collingwood has dismissed a rumour that forward Travis Cloke is suffering from glandular fever and will miss the rest of the club's finals campaign.

The key forward was absent during the club's main training session on Wednesday and a caller told 3AW's rumour file this morning that the 21-year-old was suffering from glandular fever.

But a spokesman for the Magpies today said the information was wrong.

"He was ill earlier in the week and was told to miss the session," the spokesman said.

Cloke only had a light training session today as the Magpies completed their preparation for tomorrow night's semi-final against St Kilda.

Earlier this week, Collingwood captain Scott Burns cleared another hurdle on his path to recovery, taking part in Wednesday's full training session for the first time since he injured his calf in round 21.

Whomever picks him up must be told to run off him as much as possible to make him run about and tire him out.

Great to see that Lyon had Blake do exactly that..

Blakey ran off him superbly...was often 100m away.

27 disposals and 18 marks!!!!

Well if he wasn't ill then that was a terrible performance, didn't listen to the radio but I reckon he would have featured in MMM's 'not so good' votes!

Blake was good tonight, though he did make a few mistakes but thats fine when you get the ball 27 times as a tall defender.
