This post struck a chord with me.. Passion is something we seem to be lacking.. in major amounts.. I couldnt quite put my finger on it, why players arnt digging in, sharing, blocking etc... Something (or nothing) is not igniting thier passion and unity.. we are playing to a plan, without heart..Otiman wrote:The players are not robots. Ross Lyon wants a certain game style to be played by robots.
We play our best football with passion, and this is something that Ross Lyon has neglected since coming to the coaches box. Where was he at 3/4 time when our boys needed revving up? Pointing and waving at a whiteboard.
It may be the future of coaching, but not just yet, at least not with this group of players.
I think this is a very good point.JeffDunne wrote:Name me one player on our list in career best form.
Actually, name me one player that's improved under Lyon's coaching.
Our list to a man has plateaued or gone backwards since Lyon took over as coach.
Yes, we are being poorly coached.
please guys, stop making sense....rodgerfox wrote:I think this is a very good point.JeffDunne wrote:Name me one player on our list in career best form.

Who has 'come on'?
Who has been played in a different posi or role and flourished?
Where is the 'Mark McVeigh' at our club? The player who has really stepped up under the new coach?
Armo has only played under RL. Gilbert played 2 games before RL arrived so he was always going to improve. Fiora is in the seconds so he hasnt improved. The problem is that none of our so called stars have improved, most have gone backwards.groupie1 wrote:Armitage and Gilbert have improved under Lyon, so did Fiora last year
I see you've fallen for the 'opinion as fact' posts that abound on here from time to time.Saints43 wrote:As far as I can see the people with least finals experience at the club is the coaching staff. If you exclude finals as players then there is no experience in current roles.
The only thing you've left out was the bit where I said finals experience in their current roles.Mr Magic wrote:I see you've fallen for the 'opinion as fact' posts that abound on here from time to time.
ROCK was the midfield coach for the Demons in 2006 - the same team that defeated us in teh Elimination fainal.
Have I left any out?
Because we have faith in the people who put them into those jobs.Saints43 wrote:The only thing you've left out was the bit where I said finals experience in their current roles.Mr Magic wrote:I see you've fallen for the 'opinion as fact' posts that abound on here from time to time.

I'll concede Anthony Rock has some finals experience as an assistant.
Thanks for clearing that up.
The point being that the staff who we are told cannot execute their job role successfully (the players) actually have a proven track record of being competent enough to be involved in finals.
I don't believe the coaching staff (Anthony Rock aside) have any finals experience in the positions they occupy at our club. Yet it is just assumed by some that they are good at their jobs. Why?
