no resting that the commentators have mentioned- apart from Alex silvagne and he's not on our list

Birss bouncing goal, further ahead

percentage coming up- Surprising many as they were not expected to be too far up the ladder given their young list

One thing about Birss...he seems to be one of the few mids on our list that can snag a goal.

knowing the official bests are sometimes quite wrong it would be interesting to read a report by somebody who was there.

Armitage, Birss, C.Gardiner and Geary the top four likely to come into the side. R.Clarke, Ferguson and Gwilt rough chances.

Hopefully McQualter can keep this form up, good to see him actually winning some ball.

Good work by the Scorpions.

They like all of us, must be wishing for an injury free year for the Saints as they will have access to quite a few handy players.

Scorpions Continue to Build

The Scorpions made in 2 from 2 at home this year, with another strong display under lights, this time against Box Hill.
It was Box Hill who dominated play in the first quarter with an ever so slight breeze to their advantage, innacurate kicking at goal would prove extremely costly, and despite winning the football around the ground, It was the Scorpions who were able to go into quarter time with their noses in front. Chris Dunne came off the bench to slot a strong running goal, and Andrew McQualter was standing up in the midfield for the Scorpions.

Casey 2.1. 13
Box Hill 1.6. 12

To be honest the best were porbably spot on. McQualter was brilliant and I thought Armitage was outstanding. I reckon he's worked on his change of pace a fair bit. Laid a big tackle on the near wing(to the clubrooms) Ferguson is always good at VFL level, i still rate this bloke very much.

did armo get to alot of contests? That was his biggest problem last year and might be the reason he has not been selected yet. Needs to learn to gut run as he is actually very explosive off the mark but struggles to do that over and over

Yes i thought he did, probably one of his best games for us, he seems to beable to not only hit the contest hard (which he always did) but then jump a gear and scoot away from the pack(which he struggled to do last year) seems to be alot stronger aswell, and geez the boy can lay a tackle. I would expect he gets a game in the next couple of weeks going on saturday nights performance.

thats great to hear, was given a bith spray after a practice game for casey early this year about his lack of effort. Has all the skills to be a good AFL midfielder, just needs to put in the work. Hopefully they make the kid wait another week so that he REALLY wants it
