The article was fantastic.

Wouldn't expect anything less from GT, as a planner/strategist he was great.

Match day coaching let him down, as was adjusting to the changing tactics of other teams.

Great article, and I'm not GT fan!

if i were coach i'd like to hear everyone's opinion. gives you more ideas and potentially more options. but that's just me.
bulltwang if your good enuogh to be a professional coach you would give a crap what anyone else has to say cause you know yourself what you want to do and how to do it and if you dont then you shouldnt be coaching at AFL level

Was really disappointed when he gave it away (would still only be 26/27) imagine him in the side now with Fisher and Goddard taking the 3rd or 4th or even 5th (with goose) defenders.
Penny was a massive loss.

The loss of him as a key stopping defender who was never beaten, plus the speed, line breaking and great kicking of Aussie were just crucial.

To win 14 games the year we lost two players as important as that was incredible.

Still haven't really replaced them.
Aussie Jones ahs been well and truely replaced.

J Gram
Gram is good but hes not 1/8th the player aussie was

Gram is no Aussie Jones. Let's make that clear. Gram just pumps it high and long; Jones could whip in and out of the defensive 50m and bullet a 55m pass to the chest of Riewoldt or Gehrig.

Sam Fisher, while a very good player, is perhaps not as valuble to us as Luke Penny potentially was.

Their absence has cost us dearly, but if Goose and Max can find full fitness, added to Goddard and Chips, we can boast a strong enough defence.
Aussie was next to useless during his last year, his motivation and determination for the game were clear to those whom knew his best.

Lets not forget that. We lost Austinn Jones the year before he retired.

people are different. there is such a thing as consensus leadership where the boss canvasses the opinions of those he rates and makes decisions based on what he has heard. it is rare, but it happens.

but some guys think they know it all already :D

consensus leadership is fair enuff for the coach and his assistant coaches who are privy to all the infomation regarding the team as for careing and listening to a has been former coach who on more then one occasion made an ass of himself in the media i think you would find RL more inclinde to listem to B4E's ruck stats then GT

like i said, that's just me.
