Hill, Tuck, Palmer, Gamble all ahead of Geary for this week. Brown's going to have to find the ball before he'll get a nomination.

Isn't Rioli ineligible due to age?

12 touches, 5 tackes, 2 goals. How is that better than Hill or Gamble? I didn't see the Hawks game (I was otherwise occupied), but I would think that Palmer and Tuck would get the nod ahead of Rioli.

Edit: Rioli's definitely eligable. 18 years of age.

I actually thought that Gamble was inelligible to tell you the truth...

And IMO Rioli's efforts in a reasonably close encounter was more important than Hills efforts in a schallacking....

Harry Taylor from Geelong's half a chance too this week

If Geary had kept his 1st quarter form up, he'd definately have been a chance

That's possible (again, I haven't seen that game), but the RS selectors have usually erred on the side of stats. Hill's performance last week was much more crucial than Houli's, but Houli got the nom anyway. I'd be surprised if Rioli got the nod over the four I mentioned earlier.

BTW, saint66au - Taylor's ineligable on account of age. He looks like he's going to be a good one though.

That's a very good point about stats, I am too naive, I always go for who I believed to be the best player, not who stats deem to be the best player

It's been quite interesting this year, is it my imagination or have their been quite a few mature aged recruits?

It's only a matter of time. He's a beauty. One of the (many) advantages of being at the game is to see how players anticipate the flow of the game. To some extent this is innate in players, which is why some shine earlier than others. Whatever is the case, J Geary "has it". As I have said elsewhere, his next step will be to the midfield, probably after R Harvey retires after his third premiership in 2011.

He should be our next "number 4".
