St.Kilda, Port Melbourne, Albert Park or even Elsternwick somewhere with a fairly central location
i am sure the club wouldve visited these ideas but overall the best move in their opinion was Frankston

where could we have moved to in stkilda?

port melbourne didnt want us there, we are leaving moorabbin because they wont work with us so we dont need more issues in moving to another anti stkilda council/club

albert park, yeh junction oval is there but so is cricket.

elstenwick, again where is there an oval with a willing council and club and no cricket during summer?

stkilda wouldve explored all options and i do think they have shown some kind of consideration for the supporters by not moving to casey

By abusing his opinion and him personally?

BTW I dont mind Frankston as a base and think that moving from Moorabbin is a good thing so i am against his opinion as well.

But the abuse this poster cops when this site has been cleaned up is really piss poor.

Don't worry Joffa, he's a masochist, thrives on the abuse.

You'd be a sadist if you stopped it.

Ironic that he has titled the movement 'SFA' as that also seems to be the amount of support he is getting.

By the way...

Just how many times has b4e gone to Moorabbin in the last couple of years??

Were the Hawthorn members consulted about their move to Waverley??

Were Collingwood members consulted about their move ???

Jesus, so he wants 100 signatures to challenge the board...

There is a world of difference between voicing an opinion and going so far as to threaten a board challenge.

Some people need a modicum of perspective, the club dosen't revolve around them alone.

Well this Forum has always been a pretty accurate "Exit Poll" for the feelings of Saints fans...so I reckon even if we had put it to a vote..we'd be off down the highway anyway 8-)

SOme perspective people..its a TRAINING BASE..a state of the art one...and it will be ready in 2 years

Barks, you wanna "Initiate talks" with St Kilda council? Hope you can drive a bulldozer and grader while you do it. Off ya go..we'll be cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony in Frankston while you are having your 293rd meeting about the feasibilty of having a feasibilty study to report back to the 34 sub-commitees set up to discuss and ratify the 23435 by-law changes required in writing in triplicate.

FAIR DINKUM...Kingston Council are are the genie in the lamp with unlimited wishes compared to Port Phillip. Ever dealt with them? Their parking cops hand out tickets to people who overstay a meter by one minute because they are dealing with getting a child with Cerebal Palsy into the car!!

I have issues with the future plans for the Social Club and its location, and I'm about to start a thread on it....but as far as an elite site for our team to best prepare for winning a Premiership....Viva la Frannga!!!

I'm with you on this one Barks.. Knowing the St.Kilda area quite well, the peanut farm behind Luna Park is our best bet I recon. The Sacred Heart Saints give it a fair run during winter, but they would be willing to step aside for the big boys...

In all seriousness, I'm not sold on the Frankston idea. Not sure how much the players would like it, and it makes it difficult for us city saints supporters... It is a bit of a gamble..

Oh come on riccardo - do you really think he is serious?

But now RogerFox is on board the team is beginning to look pretty powerful so I might be tempted.

Oh what the heck - put me down

Only 94 to go.

Thing is it is actually quite simple.

The Saints put it out to ALL councils that we were up for grabs.

ONLY Casey and Frankston put their hands up.

Frankston had the more attractive bid and won.

END of story,

Port Phillip, Kingston Councils etc were ALL not interested.

The saints NEED to be somewhere that we are not wanted.....and to not just tray and impose ourselves on say Port Phllip who would then be pissed off and who would put hurdle after hurdle in our way.

Frankston are so happy to have us that they are having Banger lead a street parade!!!!!!!

Compare that to Kingston where some bozzo Kingston Councillor and his cronies were actually digging up the saints Car Park to plant tree!!!!!!

There's a little patch of grass on Greaves St if I remember correctly.

Move there and we'll be able to identify with the local sex workers.

Definitely pick up a few extra supporters... and a few STD's - small price to pay for a full house on game day mind.

Cheap ice too.
