Interesting.

Is it arguable that Sinclair letting his guy dominate from the get go and later completely misjudging a few crucial incoming balls actually set up the Pies win, notwithstanding a sterling comeback later?

Too much later of course.

By contrast I saw Wilkie as playing far better, selfless, committed role over the whole game against strong odds and he is hardly rated.

What's not arguable, I feel, is that Membrey was far better than Sincs, but there you go, we all see things differently.

Sinclair wasn’t perfect but you rate him too harshly. We had a fair amount of footy in the first half and we kept it in our attacking zone for lengthy periods which meant that obviously if you were a backman that you weren’t getting much chance to tally possession stats. The fact that we butchered the ball or that we didn’t hold our marks inside 50 in the first half wasn’t Sincs fault

The two highest for inside 50’s in our team were Gresham and Wood. Both not renowned for their ball use. We need to make sure that Hill, Sinclair, and perhaps Webster and Wilkie get more of a chance to pass to our forwards. Hill has to play higher up the ground. Steele and Crouch were below standard. Our mids were beaten at centre clearance.

Wilkie was good, but wasn’t perfect by the way. He completely misjudged the footy on more than one occasion, but you have to slow down the play and watch the replay a couple of times to pick up who the culprits are. All you Anglos look alike so I can understand that you mistook him for some one else

Thought Steele had a ‘meh’ game

Must have high expectations of him, which is probably a compliment

In fact, he hasn’t been great during the preseason
