Every club has injuries and we have no more than a lot of other clubs. Our lack our depth has been really exposed this year and TBH Sier & Brown would be too much for any VFL midfield.

The point is with 11 players on a injury list it leaves you pretty thin in the reserves. Sier and Brown are perfect VFL players,

If their reserves are so impressive, how is it that they were only able to beat a decimated Zebras by 3 goals in near perfect conditions?

Because most of their side were young and inexperienced Collingwood listed players.

As opposed to a team decimated by injury to it's key players? - emphasis on 'key' players here. Their players were actually out there for their reserves - ours weren't.

I would say that the fact that our seniors, who were without their captain, their CHB, and four of our starting 22 midfielders batted pretty deep on Sunday to get eight goals ahead.

You are half right Samurai. Collingwood have 7 out injured themselves and the Sandringham midfield was mostly Sandi top up players with short bursts by Kent, who had a zero influence.

Either way the conversation started re Poulter getting a game at Collingwood.

Looks like he will get dropped this week.

After 9 games he has been averaging 16.3 disposals @ 70% thats a pretty good effort for a first year player. If Sandringham had a reserves side Allison would have spent most if the year playing with them.

Yes,

Allison looks a mile off

Couldn’t get a kick forward so they sent him back, still struggling

Sharman has showed more in 2 games and 3 weeks of training

Playing chip chip all day. Not hard to get numbers getting sideways passes all day.

Yep like no one in every club does that? To put it in context Brad Hill our million dollar man is averaging 18.8 disposals a game. Yes he will have a lot more metres gained, but still its a pretty good start to his career IMO. There is another thread regarding Ryan Byrnes who is playing well in his 2nd year and he is averaging the same disposals as Poulter.

Collingwood are a much better side than their ladder position would suggest. Put a marking key forward and a more attacking coach at the helm and they would leap frog us on the ladder. As it was the nearly beat us playing one decent quarter. Injuries can never be an excuse in a professional environment!

Well where are they getting this marking key forward from?

Injuries of course can be used as an excuse.

Remove your head from your backside. Collingwood have the biggest pulling power and can offer more external benefits of any club in the comp. Whats to say they wont recruit Ben King or similiar?

They get Daicos for points only, so they wont care if they trade out of the 1st round, this year and next.

They don't have a first round pick this year. Thats the point.

Sorry I wasn't aware of that... I see its linked to GWS how did that happen?

I just looked they traded out of this years 1st round for picks 20, 24, 30 in 2020 and a 2021 4th round pick. I can see your point though that they are going to struggle to get a key forward unless they trade out players? They obviously rated last years draft much higher than this year - odd?

More a PR exercise with the trade outs.

Because they have a history of not getting the best available. When they do it's because they've breached their salary cap. Remember they are paying overs for every player because of the jumper they wear. It actually works against them.

Fingers crossed North select Daicos 🤞 If the system is not corrupt they will.

You’re not an authority figure here Saynta and your certainly not in a position to tell ppl to go away… especially with your history of running selective Saints down.
