No offence mate but why?
I actually continue to regard it as a risk worth taking.
a/ in our position at the time, we had to pay overs for a credentialed player - and he is a highly credentialed player
b/ jury remains out. He may end up playing 30 more games for us over this year and next
c/ you can expect he will have had all these injury concerns or you can be hopeful and confident he won't
d/ had he not been injured so much we'd have called it genius

Would i accept his retirement and a financial settlement to end it all right now? Absolutely. But I remain optimistic. Fit, he walks into our B22.
Love your optimism!
Would have no trouble getting 100/1 odds on the highlighted part.
In regards to point D, if the dog hadn't stopped for a wee we would have had rabbit for tea!
You can rationalize the original recruitment any way you like but the length of contract for a bloke widely known to be cooked smacks of gross incompetence bordering on fraud!

Yes, Dan Butler gave us false hope, as last yr he played so well, and this yr he decided to put the cue in the rack.

Optimism is my middle name.
Can I put a ten-er on that wager?

Aweful decision. Cost us heaps in salary cap.
However havemt really lost any players for salary cap squeeze,we still have available spots on the list and really haven't missed any players we would have gone after due to salary cap squeeze.
Treloar would be the only exception.
However needed to us the salary cap up when he was first acquired

yes, maybe did for the first year but what about next 3 or 4?

Are we still contributing towards Jack Steven's "lifestyle"?

Seems like the admin with "issues" wanted to look after their own ilk!

Even O'Briens wouldn't touch our window.
