Agree. 9 wins is almost the equivalent of 12 wins in a 22 week season.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:23pmI don’t give a flying fvck about legit. With all due respect ... that’s the most stupid, defeatist thing I ever heard. Sure you’re not French?
I’d preferably like to make finals to see what happens. Pretty bloody hard to see whether you can create an upset or two from 9th.

Re: Holy Crap! Bulldogs might win!
Reading discussion on Bf about home finals etc. now if the eagles ‘earn ‘ a home final, the talk is it would only be for week one of finals. But what if their opposition - a chance it could be us - wins that game? How will they be able to fly back to QLD or SA for week 2 if wA still has 2 weeks quarantine thing on? Or am I getting something wrong lol?

I’m not too excited about falling over the line into 8th spot on the back of winning 1 of our last 5 (that 1 being against the second worst team in the comp) and not playing a good game since the start of August.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:23pmI don’t give a flying fvck about legit. If you are, that’s great.
Pretty sure I know what happens first week of finals in that scenario.

Getting smashed in first final is a far better outcome than two honourable losses and missing out on %...we've seen that...been there done that.
1) Coach and team have the experience of making finals
2) Club makes 'progress' vs club 'back in 2017 and richo'
3) Club looks so much more attractive to future players, sponsors
4) 9MOve to Moorabbin even looks a little better
5) Ratts gets a bit of credit and more support
Nobody remembers the details, except we made finals..!
Only tiny potential downside might be tougher fixturing next year but that would be pathetic..peanuts.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Holy Crap! Bulldogs might win!
That was a bruising tough game for the Eagles whereas our game relatively bruise free
Much rather be in our position than Pies, Giants & Dogs

Hmmmm, not so sure, getting an absolute spanking first week of finals could be very detrimental IMO.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:56pmDisagreeThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:47pmI’m not too excited about falling over the line into 8th spot on the back of winning 1 of our last 5 (that 1 being against the second worst team in the comp) and not playing a good game since the start of August.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:23pmI don’t give a flying fvck about legit. Re: Holy Crap! Bulldogs might win!
Not really. The fixturing groups are done in 6’s. Top 6. Middle 6. Bottom 6. So, unless we make it through week 1 of finals, the fixturing will be the same as finishing 12th.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 06 Sep 2020 10:56pm
