Agreed.
Also, McEvoy is on a long contract isn't he? 1 year into a 5 year deal or so?

Can't exactly see him going anywhere- future captain.

No one is on a 5 year deal.
correct. Hence my question mark.

Although he did sign a 3 year extension with a year still to run.

Big commitment by the club to extend by 3 years.
Tells you all you need to know about how the club view him.

Unless of course you think his last 12 months haven't been any good?

While we are throwing names in the air- surely a more realistic option with some currency in the market is Stanley?
Would be a walkup start CHF at say the Doggies wouldn't he?

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

I know how Dal feels.

A bit of hyperbole, but not too far off the mark- bar this year though.

His kicking was really ordinary, missed a lot of targets all year.... very strange to see a bloke go a decade never missing a pass, then suddenly doing it regularly.
It happened too often for it to be a fluke- surely I'm not the only one who noticed this?

Has he been carrying an injury this year? any surgery booked?

Currie resigned this year with north, so there won't be any delisting or rookie-ing. He will fill a void but isn't the messiah.

Dal takes the number 1 tag, Jack will then get tagged and smashed every week with no dal. If we were to trade for him, it has to be a top 20, or maybe their pick 26 with a young potential gun like Harper (North therefore paying overs).

Jack will get the number one tagger next year anyway especially with Dal likely to play HBF if he is still with us.

Jack will beat his opponent in acceleration. Dal Santo can't do that.

Most trades struggle to get done as each club overrates their players and wants to get overs for them. Unless some club has got a top 20 DP Dal stays. Could be we only get around 7 to 8 new players including Tom C as an upgrade.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

As long as we don't give too much and still get a VFL player...

Don't mind the idea of this... haven't seen much of him... 194cm 99kg right what we're looking for.

Another to look at GWS Josh Bruce

Exactly, this guy is perfect for the PSD, neither of GWS or Melb will want him...

Is 194cm big enough ?

Isn't frawley about 194? Some players play taller. Delaney is okay but I probably slightly prefer Bruce. could he come as trade stocking stuffer for a Dal trade. Dal for Del?

Delaney would be a good get preferably in the PSD but wouldn't give up more then a late 2nd rounder if we traded for him.

He's a good size but his kicking is about questionable.

Wouldn't mind both him and Josh Bruce but don't know the chances of that happening..

Worth getting Delaney but hope we don't give up much at all. He seems pretty slow of what I have seen. Watched him against collingwood and he never went to cloke at all. They preferred to play the smaller foritto on him. Would prefer to go harder at Bruce, griffen or even Steven may from gold cost. He might be looking for more opportunity and is a big and aggressive player

I haven't seen him play, certainly size wise fits bill. Really need to get a free get through psd. If we landed 2 key backs under 24 and got a gun mid pick 3, would be pretty happy

Silvagni reminds me a bit of Simpkin in that he's not quite a KPP.

Both Delaney and Bruce. Why not?
Put Simpkin in with them to fight it out for FB and CHB every week.

Go get them.
Let guys like gwilt fisher and gilbert do what they do best- run off half back.
If that means guys like Roberton, Ray, Webster, Saunders get pushed out or have to fight for a spot... well... good!

Because there's a limited number of spots on the list. Who would you delist to fit them in?

I liked the look of Delany this year.

Is the type of player that we need in our backline, and should not cost over the odds.

At 24 he is a nice age for our profile.

We need full backs pretty badly... Probably 2 minimum.

To fit them in I would comfortably move on any of Simpkin, Dunell, CJ, Gwilt, Ray, Lever, Milera if we had to. A GOP FB is more value to us than a GOP medium defender/utility.

1/ The main reason is that it just not us choosing them, but them choosing us too.
They will want to play regular senior football. You can promise one player the chance of that, but with two you can't

2/ Is the trade cost to get two, when our biggest need is really good mids. I certainly want a FB, but getting two will cut into our ability to improve our midfield.

Pretty sure we're looking to add 2, have to have back-up… with Blake retiring we will be lighter again down back…
I reckon we will happily trade away one of our medium defenders if we can bring 2 FB's in.
