Herald Sun player ranking - good for a laugh

Some fine examples
JASON BLAKE: Non-descript as usual. Seriously, you wouldn't realise he's playing half the time. Played defence and a bit in the ruck. (51)
ANDREW MCQUALTER: Debate continues to rage as to whether he was out there. If he was he did nothing. (35)

I think Blake had a mighty game.
Swinging from the backline to the ruck all day, playing a heavily physical role.
Do not underestimate the siginificance of him being a 180-something ruckman going up against the monster in Jolly... and actually beating him to some hitouts.
The guy is of average height by AFL standards!

Re: Herald Sun player ranking - good for a laugh
During the match I decided if the Saints win the flag I'll get a Grand Final guernsey with a number 27 on it. On a rank of zero to Lenny I'd give Blake a 90.SainterK wrote:http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/a ... 5929362000

McQualter I didn't notice much at the game but on replay he was sensational.
Nudists. They're a bunch of nudists that write this stuff.
What rubbish. Jones' disposal efficiency was 74%, bettered by only four Pies and eight Saints. Dane Swan's was 67%.CLINT JONES: Had the toughest assignment trying to stop Dane Swan. Didn't disgrace himself, but butchered the footy. (67)
Besides that, keeping Swan to 21 disposals has to be the best tagging job on him all year. Swan hasn't had fewer than 25 touches since round 2.
Nudists.
read both.
disagree with some on both sides.
Harry o'brien and nick maxwell were both pushing 9s. while we had the better 'defence' they were the best two defenders. If not for them repelling attack after attack, and that includes courageous interceptions in the middle, body on the line stuff, we would have penetrated better.
Neon Leon was the worst player on the ground, should be a 1 or 2. scored 1 goal but really pathetic.
Cloke was a trojan with his marking, but his spud like kicking should lower him to a 5.
Dawes was also a spud, should be around 3 or 4.
Jolly was thrashed by the 'c' team of ruckmen...
heath shaw was good but no A good, probably 6 or 7 out of ten.
from ours.
i'd give blake 7/10
Dempster 4 to 5 not 6/10
Goddard and hayes 10/10, because lets be honest, they had the better team, we had the best two players on the ground.
Goddard and Hayes dragged us in to it.
Monty was well silenced, got plenty of the ball, but did not get it away cleanly, 6/10.
Schneider 5/10 IMO.
let me add, every player put their body, heart and soul on the line and I am making a subjective analysis on their return.
Every player out there, including the pies, played an effing amazing game of footy and one of he all time classics.
sure we or they could have won, but in brutal and frank analysis we as a team, were outplayed, and only in it because of two of the best performances of individual footy you will ever see.
that is not to say any other player was not equally courageous, but they didn't turn that courage into an on field return.
Dale Thomas was brilliant, and should hte pies have won, either he or maxwell would have been worthy winners of the norm smith as well.

I thought Schneids had a fairly average day myself. No lack of effort but he didn't take it by the scruff.
Joey was in the packs too much - he's much better outside using his pace and kicking as the link man.
Dal wasn't fully fit, it was obvious. It looks like Ross used him purely as an extra defender, simply to take up space. He's better slicing through the middle from half back.
Bakes will be better with the run in him.
For the pies, Beams had a shocker - was he even playing?

Exactly have a look at the Ages rankings by Laidley. He reckons Saints were all over the Pies and going by his ranking you would have thought we won by 10 goals.plugger66 wrote:Its someones opinion just like a disagree with people on here who said mini did well. Well he didnt IMO.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

in fairness we had the best 2 players on the day, by a fair margin.
They had the better performed team.
For us to win again we can't expect lenny and BJ to put on such a show.
we need our middle ranking players to lift.
Lenny and BJ were better by a long shot.
their best two players were maxwell and daisy, who, while outstanding, were representative of a better performed team.
if either BJ or Lenny went down in the 3rd quarter we were shot.
probably only Maxwell was of such significant value, they were more even than us.
have no doubt that lenny and BJ will be far more heavily targetted next week, far more.
you saw both sides going the hard nut at the start.
