Ben says 22 has been finalised

They just interviewed Ben on SEN.

Obviously disappointed.....but reaffirmed that Team comes first.

When asked on chances of still coming in he stated that while he would still warm up, that the 22 had been finalised.

You could hear the disappointment in his voice. So if he is playing..he is a good actor.

Another reason more than the 22 who play in the winning side on the day should get medals.

As Ben said the team comes first and I reckon Ross will get that right.

Nonetheless it's impossible not to feel sad for Ben or anyone in his position.

Yeah, I think the ruck situation at least is finalised, poor Ben.

Gardi was really trying to answer the questions without giving anything away, really put him on the spot a bit there when they asked 'will you be doing it all on your own tomorrow'

Cruel game isn't it.

But sadly for him the more I think about two relatively immobile ruckmen against the Pies plus Kosi as well simply leaves us short a rotation when we need runners.

His time will come. Maybe he'll be our captain when we next peak? Who knows...

Whatever the case may be, he is a class act, and absolutely quality individual, and we are lucky to have his ilk among our crew.

IMO this is a mistake. Need to take advantage of Pies lack of 2nd ruck strength. Could be crucial in tipping balance in all important clearances advantage.

I am shattered for him to, I really think he deserves a go, but I also like to see Bakes back in. I am so glad that I am not the one making these decisions.

i agree i think he has been critical for us and our biggest improver this year.

still reckon he will come in tho

In the NFL everyone involved in the team gets a Superbowl ring. The NFL pays for 150 to be made.

At the very least every player on the list should get a Grand Final medallion.

Ben is a great player and young enough to get another chance. We need runners tomorrow - this selection didn't dawn on me but now it's been made, it's obvious. I don't see Ross Lyon as a ducks and drakes sort of coach. The team's been selected and that's that.
