I really need the forum's help...
I fly in from Singapore at 430am on Saturday. The thought of going through the same pain as last year is killing me. I am physically sick. I am constantly thinking that I won't go on Saturday as being there should the worst happen ..... Well the thought of it is unbearable.
How are the rest of you getting through this?

Go.
Yes it will hurt and be unbearable if you go and we lose.
But it will be unbearable if we lose anyway...
BUT If you don't go and we win.... I can bet you will never forgive yourself.
How am i getting through this week?
No idea.... but the nerves will probably start to shake a bit from tomorrow sometime.

Fingers, if you can be there, BE THERE!!!
Losing will hurt just as much wherever you are, but winning will be that much sweeter if you are there.
As for getting through the week: excitement, anticipation and hope.

You've gotta go Fingers. Losing to that bile will not be easy to take, infact it could be the worst thing to ever happen (apart from family deaths...maybe). However if it gets too much you can always leave early.
I'm packing my car saturday morning, chucking the swag in the back and some fishing rods. If we lose,I'll be heading straight home and go for a drive for a couple of days, out of radio/phone reception...
If we win? Well I went to Vegas a few weeks back for a boys trip..... that trip will have nothing on the celebrations if we do the unthinkable
You can't miss history

OES77 is right. It's probably going to be unbearable. We're likely to lose.stinger wrote:no pain this year..it will be different...we are only playing the filth...fingers wrote:I fly in from Singapore at 430am on Saturday. But if you weren't there when we got up an won .....
The rest of your life would be unbearable.

We are very capable of surprising. Fingers crossed.

I thought I was coping really well this year compared to last year.
But seeing the teams selected tonight made me realise it is now almost upon us.
Now i'm a bundle of nerves and totally stressed out.

I agree with the other posters.
If you have the opportunity to go, you have to go.
You'll never forgive yourself if you don't.
As much as last year was painful and took a while to get over, you do get over it. I got over it more easily than I thought I would. Perhaps because I've experienced a lot of other pain in life. I
Losing the GF hurts. It hurts to the core. I've said before that its a bit like a relationship. When you get hurt, its hard to take the chance to try again. But you do. In the search of the ultimate happiness. Its hard to take the risk of getting hurt again (both relationship wise and footy wise). How many of us thought after the loss last year that we'd be able to cope with ups and downs that this year has brought. But we have. You have to take the risk of getting hurt again in order to experience the ultimate success. After all, thats what we follow our team for.
So if you have a ticket Fingers, you have to go. Don't miss it and maybe regret it. If its awful you can always leave. And if the unthinkable happens, your SS friends will all be here to help each other through it.
But have faith...we will win!!!!!!!!

Same Enrico..have been really composed and calm..but today it all unravelled ..by game time I will be a volcano waiting to erupt..as if it was going to be any different..Imagine how hard it is for the players to deal with all this crap..hoping that ours might be advantaged by having been there last year..only means something if we winEnrico_Misso wrote:I thought I was coping really well this year compared to last year.

Dont post here too often but I always read the posts. I am less nervous than last year as I am very confident, no I am certain that we WILL WIN on Sat.
This is our time to rule and no filth team will stand in our way. Cant make it to the game but a BBQ with some close Saints mates in the Eastern Suburbs will do me fine.
Mark my words we will win.

To accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe.
I am also in this group. Last year as soon as I woke up Saturday morning after the prelim was a mess. This year I have got myself a ticket to go and have been dealing with the week really well. Even enjoyed Monday at work filling the shed with Red, White and Black. Once seeing that Ben Mcevoy had been dropped it's been painfull.OneEyedSainter77 wrote:Yeah add me to that brigade too.saint patrick wrote:Same Enrico..have been really composed and calm..but today it all unravelled ..by game time I will be a volcano waiting to erupt..as if it was going to be any different..Imagine how hard it is for the players to deal with all this crap..hoping that ours might be advantaged by having been there last year..only means something if we winEnrico_Misso wrote:I thought I was coping really well this year compared to last year.

Oddly, I'm calm and ready now... I've stressed all week, but I think I've wrapped my head around it, and can deal with most contingencies.
It's really helped shutting all media out.... Just blissful silence between now and when I go watch the Saints and Pies run around chasing the footy on the park.
Simply shut out the noise, fingers... and maybe allow yourself the luxury of not deciding till you land. I'm sure you'll be there.

You have to go fingers as the other posters have said it will hurt no matter where you if we lose but if you are there when we win imagine the feeling.
Sing it loud Saints, be proud of our boys no matter what comes.
I am not nervous yet but I did shed a few quiet tears for Big Ben last night when Ross talked about him taking it hard and not knowing it was coming.
