Jason Blake breaks a record
I can't remember the exact figures but I think the Blake only had to go about seven games without a vote to break the record for most games without a vote.
I'm not sure if it's an indictment on his ability or a testament to his character but regardless
I love the Blake

Re: Jason Blake breaks a record
with a bit of luck in his later years he'll be able to sit at home counting his premiership medallion.

He's now on 185 games without a vote (and counting)
Ross Henshaw went 167 without a vote
Shannon Watt went 155 without a vote
are the others in the 150+ club
(Fiora went 140 games without a vote)

Didn't get a vote but has had four coaches.
Lance or James??

And even more positions. Given his current one, it wouldn't surprise if his career ended without a vote. Not sure how he escaped from that Hawthorn win in 2008 without a vote. He tore it up after being moved into the ruck.joffaboy wrote:Didn't get a vote but has had four coaches.
But I think Blakey would be fine with finishing up with 200+ games, no votes and something to drape around his neck.
Yeah nah pleasing positive
172 HnA games without a vote, breaking away from Shannon Watt and Ross Henshaw (both 150). And his nearest 'challenger'Michael Firrito polled.
Well done Blakey, a real survivor and hopefully soon a Premiership player!

I remember a game against Hawthorn in 2008(?) at Jihad.
We were down a heap at 1/4 time.
But we had a huge comeback in the 3rd quarter
led by ....
JASON BLAKE
He dominated the ruck.
AND
Kicked 4 goals in that QUARTER !!!!!
Won us the game.
Brownlow votes .....
.....
.....
Big Fat ZERO

Re: Jason Blake breaks a record
Blake must have had a pretty good year as he only got one less vote than Luke Ball.kosifantutti23 wrote:I can't remember the exact figures but I think the Blake only had to go about seven games without a vote to break the record for most games without a vote.

And we all know LB's a $500,000 pa superstar.
Well done Jason
What about the game in Launceston (Sirengate) when he smashed Sandilands in the ruck....if that wasn't a 3 vote game I don't know what would be. Votes must have gone to Chris Judd.

Great and honest player for the Saints for many years, but please don't let the poster that only posts when he has his time of the month to bitch and complain to make his appearance and post some negative stuff toward a great week leading to the GF...Enrico_Misso wrote:I remember a game against Hawthorn in 2008(?) at Jihad.

B4E you are in serious need of meds or just don't post when it is that time of the month
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

I think LB is only half the player he was last year.

What about the game against the Hawks one year where he kicked 3 goals in a quarter and turned the game?
I also remember a ripper against Sandilands down at Tasmania, where he kicked a goal or two and had 20+ touches.
Then he also had a ripper defensive game on Adam Goodes one final I think, but that is understandable that he didn't get any.
Blake is a fairly under the radar guy. Goes about his business and does his job. I hope he ends up with at least 1 vote by the time he is done.
